WOW!!! Back when I started this account back in 2009 I added many thousands of entries & many cemeteries with entire lists of graves known. I didn't know back then that FAG would be so competitive with other members. I just listed the cemeteries, entires from lists/bibles/cemetery records, etc and added what photos I had at the time. I left it all at that. I sometimes look thru FAG via ancestry while working on my tree or assisting others with their trees. Now in 2023 I see that MANY of my entries have been taken by others (one couple who claim they don't "OWN" them.) I'm now down to barely any cemeteries & only just over 3,000 entries. Yet.....these other members & particular couple who don't "OWN" the entries have used MY photos. It's really pathetic & I'm quite disgusted. I'm not in for the challengers just did it to contribute and add cemeteries & graves. Never was. I have tons of old family papers, info, etc.... but will only add those to my tree, on ancestry, etc and will NOT add any more photos of people or docs on FAG any more for others' to claim as their own entries. I still have much to add to ancestry when time allows. To the particular couple if they take time to read this & not take what's not theirs....I don't appreciate you taking all my family entries. Karma comes around.

I do NOT continuously add to this acct or update. Added things a few yrs ago.........to HELP others. Ever since I continuously receive emails, some not so nice. When I made my attempt to help back then, there were many cemeteries or listings for folks not on here, nor graves of family so I did what I could to assist. Just knowing I added a few to help others was satisfying enough. If I knew back then that somehow my adding information would later become offensive to many I'd have not added anything. I don't have the time to update, transfer, etc... Just added the listings then as they weren't available or just made sure I added my family....but from there some folks just get too carried away. We should just be grateful this site exists as I'm sure was intended as I attempted to do....to HELP. It's not a bickering ground for those having a bad day or greed. See findagrave FAQ below:
What if a member will not transfer my relative to me?
If the memorial in question is a direct relative within four generations (siblings, parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents) to you and the original submitter is not direct family, then your wishes supersede theirs under our "Family First" policy. If they refuse to transfer your relative to you, contact the administration and we will work on it for you.
Please remember that there are thousands of contributors to Find A Grave, and it is highly likely that some of those contributors will actually be part of your family tree and share some of your ancestors.
Also, the goal is not to "own" every memorial of those to whom you are related. The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it.
Any non-direct relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) are not required to be transferred. Keep in mind that the original contributor may also be related to the memorial and may not make the transfer. Bulk surname requests should not be made. Be advised that memorials listed as famous or maintained by Find A Grave will not be transferred.
First, Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. Transferring of management should only be requested If you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request.
Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
