RE: John Hollman Hi, Thanks. I saw no way to repair the first entry (which seems to have been made up out of whole cloth only because the name was the same, with no other evidence), so made a completely new one. Find a Grave should have some means to delete bogus entries like that early Hollman one.
If you are interested I wrote an article on Hollman and the grave for the "Overland Journal" published by the Oregon-California Trails Association.
John Alvaro Hancock I visited the Torrey, Utah Cemetery yesterday (February 20, 2016) and searched for the headstone/marker of John Hancock.
There was no directory for the cemetery, but due to its small size, it was easy to walk and review all markers.
I was able to locate the marker for Delila B Hancock. It was a metal plaque in a concrete base on the Northwest boundary, next to the road. The information provided was her name, birth and death year and Magleby Mortuary logo at the bottom. Magleby Mortuary was from Richfield Utah.
There were no other markers with the name "Hancock" in the cemetery. It is possible that a marker exists, possibly buried beneath the grass. Or, due to financial or other circumstances there is no marker.
I will be happy to provide information for Richard Magruder's wife Eleanor "Nellie" Hawkins.
When requesting information, please include the memorial number. I have MANY Magruder memorials. Also, it is MAGRUDER :)
My information is from the obituary that I added to the memorial.
Nellie's father, Luke Hawkins has a memorial with a photo with all of the names of the children with no dates. Perhaps they are not buried there. I have many books, but nothing for that particular cemetery.
The Charles County Genealogical Society is online if you wish to contact them. They published a cemetery book in the last couple of years. If my memory is correct, you might be able to do a surname search on the site. If you cannot locate them, please let me know.
It appears that my memorial might be a duplicate if her correct given name was Elizabeth Eleanor Hawkins. I might need to remove my duplicate memorial after sharing the death information for the other memorial.
My records contain a small amount of information for Richard Magruder's family but no burials. They were probably buried on family property.
