Genealogy was my mother's passion since the fifth grade when she read a stage coach diary of one relative from the 1800's. For 50 years she has worked hard on hunting down the facts. In 1995 she self published a book for my siblings and her grandchildren to have so they would know who they were. It was only at the beginning of this year (2009) that I caught the "BUG"! I started with the wonderful information she had and with the computer took over being able to achieve almost as much in the past 9 months as she did, in a life time, with the help of my computer. I have over 7000 people in my children's family tree and have been doing friend's trees for them. It is an addictive "BUG" to catch. But a fun one and most fulfilling. Every new name is a person to me and I feel myself grieve for the mother who bore 11 children but only 2 survive to adulthood. I invision what life must have been like in the 1650 as my ancestors settled America, or lost a son, brother, husband in the Revolutionary war and the Civil War. I get angry when it appears an ancestor is hiding and I can't find him. Like a dog with a bone I can't let go until I find out everything about him I can. Some have been very challenging while others seem to say "see I was here all the time". My goal is be of help to anyone who is searching for their ancestors, to maybe be able to find one of those hard to find guys. I look forward to helping and maybe corresponding with others who have caught the "BUG"
