I'm Julie Bishop, daughter of Ernest W. Bishop and LeDora Frances Jones Bishop. The Jones are from Neodesha, KS and the Bishops are from Elizabethton, TN. If you go back far enough, the Jones are from Wales, and the Bishops are from Scotland. I enjoy genealogy and have been working on my lines since reading the book Roots in the 1970's.
My grandmother was ill and bed-ridden, but could remember people and dates back to before the Civil War, I would sit with her and write down names and dates and places. Now I have a passion for information about the people who made me me.
This is a great site, because it is not possible for me to go and find all the graves of all my ancestors, but this is a good way to get pictures of the headstones and if I'm lucky a picture of the person too. Anyone is welcome to use my photos as you like.
