THERE IS A HEAVENLY GARDEN, by Otis Rainwater

Sometimes God picks the flower
That is still in bloom
Sometimes the rosebud's chosen
That we feel He's picked too soon
Sometimes the flower is fading
With petals floating down
But God knows the perfect time
To gather flowers from the ground
There is a heavenly garden
In which God takes great pleasure
Because He's placed within it
The loved ones that we treasure
He walks among the blossoms
Giving them eternal rest
And I know that it must please him
Because He chose our very best.

Used by permission. The perfect time for Otis to pass from this life came November 4, 2010.

RE: Jr. Swain
I never met my grandfather (Pa). He died in March before I was born in December. I was the youngest of 23 or 25 grandchildren. I guess I never knew what he did. My dad must have come by it honest. Thanks again for letting me know. This makes my day!

Yes. He was my dad. That was before my time. I'm the youngest of his 3 children. I thought he hung the moon! I've heard my brother and my mother talk about Trixie and I think we also have pictures of her. It's great to run across someone who knew him.

Thanks so very much Wayne! So her husband Grady is there. That is great to know. Since his death date was so distant from his wife Ella, I didn't have much hope. Perhaps they are next to each other. In any case, thank you so very much, again, for your efforts.

RE: Ella Shotts, Edom
Hi Wayne,

Thank you so much for responding! Actually, the only information that I have is from her death certificate, which states that she was buried in the Edom cemetery. Her maiden name was Coker, but I doubt that would have been used for her marker. So if it doesn't work out that her grave can't be found, then I understand completely. Her husband died almost 40 years after she did, and it is possible that he may have purchased a dual marker. His name was Grady L Shotts. (In my own hometown, the workers have a listing of the graves, and I was hoping that would be the case for Edom. And it sounds like they do have a listing, but that she is missing from it. Is that right?)

Again, thanks for responding, and for your efforts! Happy fourth of July.
