THERE IS A HEAVENLY GARDEN, by Otis Rainwater

Sometimes God picks the flower
That is still in bloom
Sometimes the rosebud's chosen
That we feel He's picked too soon
Sometimes the flower is fading
With petals floating down
But God knows the perfect time
To gather flowers from the ground
There is a heavenly garden
In which God takes great pleasure
Because He's placed within it
The loved ones that we treasure
He walks among the blossoms
Giving them eternal rest
And I know that it must please him
Because He chose our very best.

Used by permission. The perfect time for Otis to pass from this life came November 4, 2010.

RE: Venables, Edom, Red Hill
Wayne:
Forgive me for not getting back sooner, but my loving husband of 52 years had been sick for a long time and went home to be with the Lord on January 23 and I am just getting around to my emails.
Thank you for the offer, but I believe that I have added about as much as I know about this Venable family. Hugh Venable was a brother to my great-grandfather, Oliver Venable, Sr. You are much younger than I and your chances of being around to maintain and/or transfer to closer relatives are better than mine!! I will probably run into more memorials that need to be updated and our paths will surely cross again. You are kind to make this offer and I sincerely appreciate all you do for Find-A-Grave, specially my ancestors. ...God Bless...

I don't think that Nancy was his wife, I believe she might have been his mother.I also think that Martha J Guthery Dumas was his sister. J.D. was married to Flavy Davey. Thanks Ellen

Your welcome Wayne. I am trying to get all my Shiflet, Cantrell, Fisher and Yarbrough relatives linked. I am new to Find A Grave and haven't quite figured out how to get messages to other contributors. Seeing that you have contributed memorials for several of my relatives, I was wondering if you have connections to James Smith found in 1870 and 1880 census in Henderson Co Tx? His daughter Eugenia Smith Shiflet was my great grandmother.

RE: Hugh Burns, Carter Cemetery
Don`t reckon Hugh is kin to me but I will take him. Just trying to straighten out the Burns` in Van Zandt County. The charts say William Weldon Burns is the son of William Leonadus Burns who IS kin to me, but that is incorrect, his son is Weldon Bailey Burns. Floyd and William Weldon Burns are sons of Willie Lou Cox formerly married to a Burns, living with a Goolsby family and saying she is their niece.

Wayne, thank you so very much for the picture addition to Minnie Venable. I don't remember why my picture was so bad; probably the photographer!! I was there only once and will never get to return so you have made my day. I will delete mine. Merry Christmas to you and yours. God Bless.

RE: Rachel Lenora
Yes, I have a book on the history of their founding of the church in Tyler. My 5th and 6th great grandparents Thomas and Moses Shelby were in the American Revolution.

Have you seen the grave markers I cleaned of her parents - James Madison and Ann Amanda Henderson Shelby?

Thanks for adding Nora's infant son's parents.

I discovered the grave when I cleaned Nora's parent's gravestones.
