Married, mom of 2 girls. My family is spread far and wide; unfortunately, we probably don't know that each-other exists. I have watched my already small family grow smaller with each death. |
Trained and have worked as a funeral director, I know that life and family ties are more fragile than glass. Find a grave may help find family along with family history (yours and/or mine).
When I post a new file, I do my best to complete the file as much as possible. Most of my information starts from our local on line newspaper: democratandchronicle.com. Any additional information most likely comes from the info available online from the funeral home the family used for final disposition.
The files I create, generally, will not have punctuation (unless in the name) or be abbreviated. If I am looking for a file so to avoid duplication, I search for full first and last names (primarily by cemetery, secondary by date).
Unless a person is listed in my Virtual 'Family Plot', I am generally more than willing to transfer ownership. Any pictures I have taken/posted may be used on ancestry.com, etc.

|Sheila||RE: edit tab|
Hi Jessica! Thanks for replying yesterday about the "Edits" tab. I'll be putting up results of this on my home page here in a day or two. I happened to be reading the forums the day the new system took effect for everyone in early Dec. Other members and myself put up messages on our home pages then. Have been following things and realized there were many that didn't seem to know about it yet, so that's why I decided to do this. We do not get an email notification for any pending edits in the new system, so we need to keep checking the tab. If you have any pending "Edits" the tab will have a number in it. You can click on the tab and see the drop down box, which divides up the edits into different categories. You can also view edits you sent through the new system. You do get an email when your edit has been processed. You may have figured all this out already. It does not have a way to request links or add sources, so we still have to do those the same way. The "old system" for lack of a better term is still fully functional and some members choose to use only that, but I'm sure it will be phased out eventually. I hope this helps. Take care.

|Sheila||"Edits" tab on home page|
HI - I'm doing a quick survey of about 400 people on my friends list just to see how many are aware of the new "Edits" tab on their home page. If you could just shoot me back a brief response, either way that would be great. Thanks.

I just added gravestone photo, perhaps you would like to add the additional information
Hello again Jessica,
Thank you so very much for your generosity in transferring Doris Louise Merrill Collier to my care. I have now successfully connected her with family, and as more information comes my way and time permits, will be adding to OUR memorial.
Your willingness to share is much appreciated.
With regards and sincerest thanks,

Thank you so much and I did notice he did not have one. I have added one person from this cemetery who was not previously on so I can't wait to add more.

Thanks a bunch.
I joined a little under 4 months ago, so I am finding my way around. I will try to remember to use that method more often.
Thanks again. I appreciate your time and consideration.
If I can ever be of help to you, let me know.
