As a genealogy researcher for more than thirty years my passion has taken me on quite a family history journey. The most distressing thing during this journey has been how many gravemarkers have been destroyed by time and the elements and by vandalism, but especially those graves that were never marked.|
If I possessed all the money needed, I would see to it that each and every unmarked grave was given the rememberance that person deserves. So, I am happy to contribute to Find-A-Grave. I encourage others to do so as well.
My roots are in the Heart of Dixie. I have a keen interest in knowing about the soldiers of the 16th Regiment of Alabama Infantry, CSA, the 1st AL & TN Independent Vidette Cavalry, USA. I encourage anyone who has an ancestor in either of these regiments to please submit information about them to me for inclusion in my research.
Please use the EDIT feature to make corrections or additions to memorials...also please be kind enough to provide documentation for any additional info requested. Please do not ask for corrections or additions in the comment section - it is very time consuming and there is a possiblity of error. Thank you very kindly.
Carolyn Murray Greer

|jmckemie||RE: Tully's Grave....|
Thanks for writing back!
Anyway, you could pass on my contact information or get me in touch with them? The photo is mine (and I have no problem with it being shared, glad to see it out there) but would like to figure out which man is Tully, with certainty. As well as identify the other Woodard on the team who is also pictured My best contact is email@example.com
Thanks for any help!

...is in Mt. Zion - Frankewing Cemetery and photographed here: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~maury/Giles-Marshall-LincolnCountyCemWeb/MtZion-FrankewingCemGilesCo/IMG_8074.JPG
Also, the picture you have of the baseball team...? Curious how you determined Tully is the third from the left? I have the picture, but my great-grandmother marked THREE guys, leaving me baffled ;p If you can explain your certainty that he's the third from the left, I would love you forever.
Thanks for your efforts in adding this family data to Findagrave. I'm returning to genealogy after a multi-year (LOOOOONG) hiatus and it was nice to see.

I have some information but not much just what I have found on Family Search, census and such. At one time I was in touch with Mark Woods from Texas who told me he was off Wynona's family. I think one of the older sisters. But he also knew the Peebles who moved to Texas. I have lost touch with him. If you will give me your mailing address I will send what information I have. How are you related to Wynona?
|jeanette kassaw||Ann Peebles|
Ann Peebles worked as a servant from 1900 thru 1910. She died June 5, 1917 in Lincoln Tennessee and is buried in the County Cemetery. I found it on Family Search several years ago. George Peebles is my gggrandfather.

Hi Carolyn - My photo, along with many hundreds of others, was taken in a prior year. This one actually in 2010. Sorry to be so slow.

i dont have a obituary. a lady from mayville, dodge co., wisconsin indexed the german & english newspapers for mayville 40 years ago. papers are on microfilm at WSHS madison & maybe mayville area library. bill jannke of watertown, dodge co., wisconsin indexed the german der weltberger newspaper obituaries for watertown, wisconsin. the der weltberger newspapers are at WSHS in madison, wisconsin & watertown, wisconsin public library, both on microfilm. neither of these indexes are online ? i have tried for years to get them to share information.
|Martin W Johnson||mueller - muller|
i see you manage mueller - muller graves in dodge co., wisconsin. the 1885 wisconsin veterans census has two civil war veterans = julius muller pvt. co. B. 26th wisconsin inft. living in ashippun, dodge co. wisc.. hermann c. mueller pvt. co. F. 6th wisconsin inft. living in watertown, wisconsin. which is half in dodge co. & half in jefferson co..
|Martin W Johnson||RE: muller / mueller|
i was refering to a old church membership list i looked at years ago in back of one of the churches record books, that had birthplaces in germany, for family members. when i copied the surnames & birthplaces , i did not have enough time to write down the given names.

I went back out to Forest Hills and read the stone, it says:
G. R. & M. E.
Dec 9, 1913
Sept 26, 1918
Hope this helps,
