As a genealogy researcher for more than thirty years my passion has taken me on quite a family history journey. The most distressing thing during this journey has been how many gravemarkers have been destroyed by time and the elements and by vandalism, but especially those graves that were never marked.|
If I possessed all the money needed, I would see to it that each and every unmarked grave was given the rememberance that person deserves. So, I am happy to contribute to Find-A-Grave. I encourage others to do so as well.
My roots are in the Heart of Dixie. I have a keen interest in knowing about the soldiers of the 16th Regiment of Alabama Infantry, CSA, the 1st AL & TN Independent Vidette Cavalry, USA. I encourage anyone who has an ancestor in either of these regiments to please submit information about them to me for inclusion in my research.
P.S. I have gotten emails on corrections that people think need to be made, but I go to their bio and they have disabled their messages and there is no email. And most of them are in error. So, please PLEASE everyone, use the Edit button on the memorial that needs changing, and if the info is correct it will be changed! For example, I got a request from BeNotForgot that told me my grandfather's name was ALEX, when in fact it is not ALEX, but Alexander. His second wife called him Elick and that family put the name ALEX on the marker, but it is not correct.

Your email address is not listed. I used the Edit tool to send the message to you. I'm sure FindaGrave just forwarded it to you.
I totally understand. I wouldn't transfer anyone that is in my line either :)
Thank you for being pleasant about it.
And thank you for adding the name correction I sent last night.
Have a great week!
Found it. If you want me to send, send me your email. Just use my email on the F-A-G site.
Somewhere I have a copy of the Murray Bible for this line. My mother turned down the original but they gave her a transcript instead. If I can find it I will send it. Will need a email address.
|Betty Frain||William Saunders Murray|
I assume from your maiden name that you may be a descendant of William Murray. I am related through Mary Alice Murray Hammerly.
|Scott Hill||A N C Cem|
Trying to determine what cemetery is A N C Cemetery in Colbert County, Alabama. I have a cousin - William Otto Hill - that was buried there on 16 Oct 1918 per his d/c from Muscle Shoals, Colbert, Alabama.
We have a memorial marker on his parent's tombstone in Tyler, Smith County, Texas, just trying to "close the loop" and "tie up loose ends".
|jeanette kassaw||William Tully Woodard|
William Thomas Woodard was married to Wynona sakota Peebles. She was his first wife and he remarried after she passed away to Lillie. If you will look at the birthdate listed for Wm. Tully you will see that he was not born when Wynona S. married and her oldest child is older than William Tully. Thank you
|Old Bwana||RE: Kirk Chapel Cemetery photos|
Carolyn - Has taken me most of the day to check my (thousands) of tombstone photos and recall that I had been to Kirks Chapel a couple of years ago and taken photos of some of the same markers Mary Carton shot back in January. I have a good clear photo of William Neely's broken marker and it clearly lists his death year as 1860. Do you want me to go ahead and place it on his memorial page???
|Old Bwana||RE: Kirk Chapel Cemetery photos|
Glad to be of some service, Carolyn. Hope you noticed the captions on all the photos - they were all taken by Mary Carton. I was just the guy who cropped and enhanced and put them out there on FindAGrave. Happy New Year!
|Cam Thompson||Minerva Eastham|
Would you please share with me the surname of Wayne connected to Minerva Scales Peebles Eastham?
I have her husband's names as:
Ingram Blanks Peebles died 1847,
Edward W Rudder died 1853,
William Eastham died 1883.
I am not related to this family so I do not have any additional information other than what would be in the pictures or other info that has been passed on to me to be added to the profile.
|Raven Smith Millwood||Flannigan Cemetery Alabama|
The cemetery has been abandoned, it's now deep in the woods, only access to it is to walk, there is one stone marked "F.M. Hagood" who married a Flannigan, his stone is about 2'x 3'clearly marked. the others are field stone's but still in place, I have pictures if interested.same cemetery name spelled Flanagin on here.
