As a genealogy researcher for more than thirty years my passion has taken me on quite a family history journey. The most distressing thing during this journey has been how many gravemarkers have been destroyed by time and the elements and by vandalism, but especially those graves that were never marked.|
If I possessed all the money needed, I would see to it that each and every unmarked grave was given the rememberance that person deserves. So, I am happy to contribute to Find-A-Grave. I encourage others to do so as well.
My roots are in the Heart of Dixie. I have a keen interest in knowing about the soldiers of the 16th Regiment of Alabama Infantry, CSA, the 1st AL & TN Independent Vidette Cavalry, USA. I encourage anyone who has an ancestor in either of these regiments to please submit information about them to me for inclusion in my research.
Please use the EDIT feature to make corrections or additions to memorials...also please be kind enough to provide documentation for any additional info requested. Please do not ask for corrections or additions in the comment section - it is very time consuming and there is a possiblity of error. Thank you very kindly.
Carolyn Murray Greer

Hi Carolyn, just wanted to let you know that I've added a tombstone picture to your memorial for Ms. Muller. Regards, Nadeen
|DearHunter||RE: Ann Walker marker photo|
I occasionally check the Ann Walker burial site in hope that a permanent marker will be in place but as of 2 weeks ago there was no marker and the Funeral Home temporary plaque is deteriorating rapidly.

I'm researching William Duncan from Pontotoc County. I believe he is buried at Bailey Springs in Lauderdale County. I was just in Pontotoc County, MS and came across his Will and it says his name is "William M. Duncan". I have also read that "William Lane Duncan" is buried in the Henry Cemetery in Hardeman County, TN. So, here's my question. Do you have a photo of the tombstone that references his birth and death dates, that he lived in Pontotoc County and was born in NC? It is referenced on your Memorial.
I posted a picture on your memorial years ago and I think it is in error now that I know his middle initial is "M". I believe I got this picture from a cousin who had visited the cemetery.
Thanks for any hints you can give me. It seems there were three William Duncan's living in Pontotoc County around the same time. My ancestor William M. Duncan (1779-1850), William Lane Duncan (1800-1876) and another William Duncan who married Vicey Colbert, a Chickasaw Indian Princess. It's been difficult to sort them out.

Thank you, Carolyn, for maintaining this memorial. Jasper is my great uncle on my daddy's side of the family. Love you sweet lady - Starla Tsosie

Yes I believe you are correct. I have a cousin in Lincoln County, TN. She puts all the Rousseau pictures in. She is the reason I have a picture of Tobitha (Bitha). I have a document I found on ancestry that has her down as his daughter (John Marion Murray). along with the other siblings. Thank you so much. My tree name is Terrie LaMay Family Tree

I' sorry I didn't locate the member but I am currently working on photographing the entire cemetery. I've noted numerous graves unmarked and cremation placements without any writing on them which I will address to the ground crew to see what they know about them. If I locate the spot for the member I'll let you know what I've found out.

Thanks for writing back!
Anyway, you could pass on my contact information or get me in touch with them? The photo is mine (and I have no problem with it being shared, glad to see it out there) but would like to figure out which man is Tully, with certainty. As well as identify the other Woodard on the team who is also pictured My best contact is firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks for any help!

...is in Mt. Zion - Frankewing Cemetery and photographed here: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~maury/Giles-Marshall-LincolnCountyCemWeb/MtZion-FrankewingCemGilesCo/IMG_8074.JPG
Also, the picture you have of the baseball team...? Curious how you determined Tully is the third from the left? I have the picture, but my great-grandmother marked THREE guys, leaving me baffled ;p If you can explain your certainty that he's the third from the left, I would love you forever.
Thanks for your efforts in adding this family data to Findagrave. I'm returning to genealogy after a multi-year (LOOOOONG) hiatus and it was nice to see.
