|Edmund Burke said "People will not look forward to posterity, who never look back to their ancestors." I do believe that is true and have been dabbling in genealogy research on my husband's and my families for about 40 years plus I have a library science background. Between the two and the love of solving puzzles, I love research of any kind. When I found this site I was excited because it is easy to use, has a wealth of information on ancestral burials, plus it's free! I love this site and am on it every day searching or adding information. I will keep working and seeking more information to help our family trees along, plus help others as I can.|
Thanks for this wonderful website!
P.S. Please use the "Edit" button to add obituaries, biographies, etc. I will gladly add them!

Hi, Lois. I put up a picture for Carolina J. Schmidt's stone (1838 - 1930) in Peoria, IL tonight and I just wanted to let you know that on the stone her name started with a K. She was the wife of Francis Xavier Schmidt. The strange "tree" behind their stone are actually the wings of a wooden carved angel!

Clara Schmitt memorial no. 165664844 you have the wrong cemetery it should be Calvary Cemetery in Cook County IL The city of Steger. I have added a photo of her grave stone that I took today at this cemetery and added John.

Ah well, hope springs eternal. :)
I guess my next question would be about the source of your information so I can make the edit.
Oops. I guess I was confused by the source you sent for the one edit. Looked it up at the Illinois website but couldn't find anything to confirm.
I don't do much work in Illinois so was looking in the wrong place. Eventually found the information at Family Search.
Will make the change as requested.
Sorry for the confusion.

Dear Lois, Thank you for your response, I somehow dropped the ball (due to illness, and broken bones)I am just now getting back to my messages.
Yes, I can see where you got confused, with so many names, But Annie was:
Annie Laurie Kelly,
She married John Anderson 1930's this who she had her three children with,
then she married Edmond Brace in the 1960's. He passed.
and she married Lowell Smith.
As I remember I just wanted to connect her three kids to her. She was my ex Mother in Law. but a finerlady didn't exist. She was the Best.
Thank you for your help.

Your memorial clearly states that she is buried in Old Graveyard. Please provide or post the support for making that statement. Also if you have that for her husband also, that would be appreciated. Thank you.
Wanted you to be aware that Lewis Stephens of Rockingham County who married Elizabeth Wolff, is not the son of the Lewis Stephens of the Frederick Co VA, Lewis Stephens who married Catherine Brinker.
Lewis who married Elizabeth Wolff in 1798 is buried near Harrisonburg Virginia, in the small town of Lacey Springs, per author, Daniel Bly.
