My mother is from Illinois and my father Virginia. Since I live in Staunton, Va. locating my father's family should be easy but it isn't. I have found more information for my mother's side.

I really appreciated the creators of Find a Grave; your website has helped me locate missing links in my family tree. So in return I go out and take pictures for others that are unable.

My youngest nephew has taken a little interest in genealogy and rides with me to take pictures. While at the cemeteries I explain to him the artwork on the older stones told a story just as much as the names on the stones.

If you are able to get out in your area to take pictures and help another genealogist please do- you may find it rewarding volunteer work just as I have.
