Family surnames that interest me on my mother's side: EASTMAN, DOUGLASS, DURHAM, BEARD, OAKES and CUMMINGS from the New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Georgia and Maine areas. One moved to Kansas. Also, from my mother's side, DURHAM, from Tennessee. From my mother's father's side, WILKERSON, from Illinois. A lot of the WILKERSONs moved to Indiana and that's where my mother's family lived.

Family surnames that interest me on my father's side: OAKES (from ??? - I have no idea), SIMPKINS and RICHARDSON from Georgia.

Of course, there are lots of other names associated with these. I'm trying to piece together more information about the Oakes and Simpkins names, for sure, because my father did not talk much about his childhood.

I'm not really sure why people list names here because I'm not looking for someone to search FOR me. But I'm adding it since it seems to be the tradition.
