Now my interest in genelaogy goes back to as a child when my father and I would go for walks and I wanted to go through a local graveyard to look for the oldest tombstone.

I was born in Peoria, IL but my family left the area and did not return until early in my seventh grade year moving to Dunlap, IL., then attending high school and college in Illinois. Jobs had me eventually becoming an East Coast resident.

The Peoria-area names I specailize in are; Abbott, Burns, Callery, Daley, Delaney, Fulton, Gallup, McDonna, McMullen, Moore, Ross and Sheen.

A proud member of One Foot In The Grave.

William Ham
April 9, 2014 Did you ever get a chance to look up William Ham(m). My mother's sisters (my aunts) Eleanor and Leta both claim William Sylvester Ham(m) as their grandfather but his record here skips my grandfather (Guy Arthur Hamm) completely. I'm confused. :(

Bronson Family Princeville IL
Hi Mike. I am looking for more information on Hiel Bronson buried in Princeville cemetery, Memorial #23858445. I am helping a dear friend find the proof that he is actually Phineas's son. She is interested in applying for the Daughters of the American Revulution and is desparate to find the relationship as they need a birth, death, will, anything showing that Phineas and Isabelle are his parents. We do know his wife was Mary Duncan Nesmith and his son is DeLorum. My friend grew up in Peoria and is a direct descendant of Phineas, then Hiel, then Delorum, then John Wesley and on down. She would be very happy to get a birth record (born in CT) or a death record in Princeville, Peoria IL> We have sent for a Death cert from the Peoria County Court Clerk, but none was found. We are fit to be tied. If you have something we would be happy to pay for postage.
Thanks, Linda Vindick and Kathie Evans Neal.

Did you remove the duplicate Anna Patten from the Cemetery ? She's listed twice ! You can only die once so I'm told unless your a cat ! Jim

William Sylvester Hamm
I'm sorry. No rush. I've run into many people who doubt the validity of this family connection. As for your involvement: you found an obituary for Ila Mae Hamm; daughter of William Sylvester Hamm in the Peoria Journal Star to go along with her grave site in Riverside Cemetery. My problem is that William's son Guy Arthur isn't listed under his children which is making my attempt to reconstruct the family history awkward.

William Sylvester Hamm's offspring
Would it make any difference if I showed you a photo of my grandfather with his sisters Ethel Mary, Ila Mae and Leta Violet Hamm?

RE: William S. Hamm
Charles Darwin wasn't as fortunate as you and I; as William's direct descendant I can provide you with further information on these. :)

William S. Hamm
Mike, I found your memorial on William S. Hamm. Based on my research I am his great-granddaughter but my grandfather, Guy Arthur Hamm (3/16/1888-1/14/1949), isn't listed under William and Mary Jane's children. (My research places Guy Arthur between Raymond S. and Ila Mae). Can we be in touch about this?
