Memorial# 106050671 I find this Cenotaph or "imitation headstone" photo misleading. Would you consider adding to the caption where it is located and that it is not actually at the Jacob/Fleet Magee Cemetery. There probably is a tombstone for Jacob and Mary there, however it is an abandoned cemetery and almost lost. We hope to gain permission from the landowner to survey the cemetery and locate it. You may find this of interest. https://fortenberry.files.wordpress.com/2015/11/magee-cemetery.pdf
RE: Obit for Henry Nieper (Knieper) Yes, I finally connected my Missouri Knieper to family coming over to New Orleans (most of them stayed there). I thought yours might be related but didn't find any links. There are also some in Michigan who don't appear to be related. However, my husband who speaks german says the "ie" rather than the "ei" appears to be more accurate.
RE: Edwin Jerome Wofford I thought I said that - sorry for the confusion. I have added a bio on Joseph Bernard Wofford on Find a Grave. Have actually visited that cemetery years ago and hope to some time in the near future add a Confederate Grave Marker next to his grave.
