My hobby and mission is genealogy. I am researching my mother's Western European heritage and my father's West African heritage.
Most of my mother's family are from England, Ireland, Scotland, and Germany. They migrated to the US and mostly settled in MA, PA, and IA.
My father's line comes from West Africa in the slave trade. They were on plantations in AL. My relatives are still mostly in AL and GA, though a large portion moved to MI.
My father and mother both lived in CA where they met and I was born. I still live here in Southern CA.
There are several cemeteries in my area that I would be happy to help people with snapping photos and documenting the information. I know that I am so grateful for the ones I have found on this site for my ancestors and relatives in other states!
RE: Picture of Henderson and Callie Peeples Thank you, Michelle. I have already retaken it and posted it. I haven't been back to the cemetery in a couple of weeks, due to shoulder surgery, but will continue to do so as soon as my doctor releases me. God bless, Mrs. B., aka Sharon Boling
Saw your name Saw your name in a note at the Laurens Andriessen Van Buskirk article. He's an ancestor of mine too! So I guess we are 8th or 9th cousins or something? (Will need to do some more counting on that to be sure.) Hello! I am going to check this site out some more! I live in Michigan actually.
RE: Thank you for the transer! Was your Dad a Redtail? They are militarily related the Air Guard unit I retired from (last June). I was in the 113th Wing, DC Air Guard, Andrews AFB. Benjamin O Davis was a commander of a fighter squadron in Ohio right after the war, and our Wing (it was only a Group then) received many of the pilots when they downsized in Ohio. I was very happy and honored to transfer the page to you. Those Red Tails that live in the Maryland area come to events we have every year.
