I wonder if maybe the illegible word in the burial location is "Doniger", which is how locals might pronounce Adonijah, a community in Clay County some of my great-greats lived.

J Henry Crabtree Family Photo
Do you happen to have a photo of J Henry's brother (also buried at Sharon Church in Ceres), James Crabtree (1843-1933)?

I noted your posting for Nettie Stephens Helms in 2011. Do you have any way to determine her date of death?

Elizabeth Isabella Saunders Morehead
Hi James, I have some info regarding this memorial for Elizabeth Isabella Saunders/Morehead b.2/23/1827 - d.8/16/1896. I was hoping you could make a necessary correction. I am a descendant of brother Gordon Saunders. I wanted to let you know that her fathers name is Micajah Saunders, (I noticed you had it listed as Michael). Her parents are Micajah Saunders & Rebeckah Thompson/Saunders. I can send you a link to my family tree on ancestry if you like.
Thanks for the great photos too, I will have to visit there the next time I'm in the area!
Take care,

RE: Rev.Issac McLaughlin
Hello! and thank you for responding! The Church here is called the New Lebanon ARP and there are no Early records availible, so I am trying to Piece together what I can from the Locals' grandparents scrapbooks and diaries, from newspaper clippings that I dig up in the libraries, and by using the early deeds of the area. Apparently, the first log building appeared in 1801 w/ a group of dissenters. They called it the Seceder Church. It is my belief that the name was changed after my ancestors, the Youngs came here from Craigsville VA, as memebers of the Old Lebanon Church in Craigsville. I have to travel to that church and see if I can read up on thier history.I do believe that Mrs. McLaughlin has a memorial, but I'll double check. We got her stone repaired and stood back up this summer! You should make an effort to come visit! Merry Christmas!
