Bio and Links
Bio Photo I now live in Indiana but was born in Walton County, Georgia.

On my maternal side, family names include Burgess, Elder, Michael, Fambrough, Lowe and Maxey - primarily in Walton, Oconee, Clarke, Oglethorpe and Greene Counties in Georgia. The families arrived in America before the Revolution. I have several books covering those families and am happy to do look-ups.

My parvenu paternal side arrived from Ireland in the 1850s and 1860s, settling in Harrison, Hudson County, New Jersey. Surnames include Donnelly, Hughes, Casey, McGarrity and Holleran.

I would be happy to help with research in my local area and exchange information about family connections.

With a very few exceptions, I am happy to transfer any memorial not of my direct family line. The exceptions are a few very close friends or family members with a special connection.

A message including the word "please" will receive a much better reception.

I owe many thanks to the FindAGrave photo volunteers who have so kindly assisted in the compilation of the history of my family lines.

Happy searching and enjoy the chase!

P S If you ask for my help, but have your messages disabled, it is impossible for me to reply. God gave you a brain, please put it to use.

US Veterans Affairs Office is not accessible. I will ask at the office at Decatur Cemetery if he and his wife are actually buried there next time I am there.

Your very welcome!
Sorry to get back to you so late! I wanted you to know that while I was there, I took a few more photos and I know one was directly related to Dennis as it was located right next to his. Check his relatives listings in there I know I added a picture or two and had forgotten to tell you! I have about 30 relatives buried there all are Costello and it appears they all must have come from Ireland to that area to settle as that whole area were Irish Catholic settlers as is the cemetery itself...beautiful quite little cemetery adjacent to farm fields and right on the same land as a neat little white church. If you need anymore pics there let me know, I would be glad to run back out there for you!

Brown Cemetery - Oconee Co., GA
Dear Mr. Donnelly

I am helping a Boy Scout and his Dad with his Eagle project and I have been taking him to Cemeteries in Oconee County. I have not been to the Brown Cemetery - but that is one that is on his list. I saw that you had posted pictures for Brown Cemetery - and I was wondering if you could please assist us in locating it. Thank you!! Nancy Bedell

Hi Burgess. This lady #101607013 was born an Elder and married John Franklin McRee first. He died in 1869, two years after they were married. I noticed you have her maiden name as McRee instead of Elder.
