Bio

Grandfather. Retired public servant. Social activist and amateur historian....

Born in United States as a double national in 1951. Graduated from US Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland in 1975 with a commission as a 2ndLt, USMC.

Retired from Marines (as a 1stLt, for permanent service-connected physical disabilities) after serving overseas as a USMC Field Artillery officer.

After leaving the service I went to visit relatives in Switzerland, the country my paternal grandfather was from. Studied nursing there and met a girl (who became my wife).
Have resided in Switzerland since 1981 where I eventually retired from nursing and public service.

In 2011 I ran for a seat in the lower house of Switzerland's bicameral Federal Parliament (Nationalrat/Conseil National), representing the canton (state) of Valais. Defeated in the election - I now enjoy a variety of interests and activities.
