|Bernadette||RE: Memorial #59924608|
My opinions are formed only after I have knowledge of the facts. Membership in the National Funeral Directors Association bars discosure to the public of most information, including place of burial (assuming there was one,) for a period of 50 years. After that, it is up to the Funeral Directors what they will disclose but some information is prohibited by either state law (such as non-discosure of death certificates by funeral homes) or by private contract - the one signed by the primary contact person at the time of the funeral.
Whatever can be disclosed after 50 years is still optional depending on the situation. Few of those records have been computerized and require time-consuming searches by staff - often in an off-site storage facility. A subpoena gives them no choice, but a cold caller may need to offer a financial incentive.

Linda, Thank you so very much for allowing me to maintain my Grandfathers memorial. You just made my day.
|Lester Van Huss||William Alfred Petty|
Linda, I am Lester William Van Huss, grandson of William Alfred Petty. He was my Mothers - Dorothy Nell Petty Van Huss father. I have created the profile for my mother Dorothy, brother Virgil and Grandmother Ruth Petty who was William Alfreds wife. I wanted to ask if you would consider transferring his memorial to me. I would appreciate it very much. If not there are some additions which need to be added to his profile. Please let me know your decision when convenient. Thank you, Lester.
