Bio and Links
Bio Photo We are volunteers assisting at Grand View Memorial Park in Glendale, CA.

You can read about some of the history and challenges at Grand View at

Initial records available for upload to FindAGrave contained only names and plot locations. We continue to work on updating birth/death dates for Grandview entries based on inquiries, photo requests, and ongoing research. We believe >99% of all Grand View interments have been added.

Photo volunteers please note: working requests at Grandview is not as simple as "point and shoot"...until the cemetery has a new owner that does major landscaping work, many of the requested markers are buried under 2-6" of sod and overgrowth.

We are more than happy to update information or transfer pages to direct family members once we can confirm we have the person correctly identified. Since the original list we used to upload did not have birth/death dates, we will only transfer once those dates have been confirmed. If you are requesting transfer of a page that has not yet been updated, please provide the dates you believe are correct with your request. We will then be able to cross-check it against Lot Sheets for interment date consistency, as well as other online records.

To provide information or request a transfer, please use the "Suggest A Correction (SAC)" link, located on the Edit Tab (upper right corner) of the page in question. Using this procedure will send a message to our email that includes links to both the memorial page as well as your Contributor ID so we'll be sure to update or transfer the correct page. Don't forget to specify your relationship.

In fairness to those who may have closer ties to a memorial, transfer requests for pages that are outside FAQ Guidelines for required transfers will be considered on an individual basis.

"We're Just Volunteers - We Don't Make Decisions" We can only answer Findagrave-related questions. All other questions must be addressed to the cemetery's representative David Baum at:

RE: Transr request - Mary Householder @ Grandview
Mary is within the four generational relationship required, however, I am not her direct descendant, I will send information through the edit section of her memorial. My goal is to get as much information available to other researchers, as possible, not to maintain extra memorials.

Just Visiting
William or Kathryn Van Patten
I have been researching my cousin, William Van Patten (died 1972) and his wife Kathryn (died 1974). Kathryn's sister (Bertha Jeannette Lape - 1899-1981) is buried at Grand View, and I was wondering if either William or Kathryn were buried there, too. It appears that most Grand View interments have been added to Find A Grave, but I just wanted to check. Thank you for any information you may have.

Eugene M. Post
I am just finding these relatives doing some genealogy research on my family. Heartbroken they are in a cemetery like this but glad to see their are volunteers trying to improve it.

I found information on a 1930 census that Eugene Post was in the Civil war and just wanted to see if he is being remembered on special days for the military. He was born aprx Apr 1844. He is in section D of the cemetery, his wife and daughter also in section D. Very small family, they are all together. Daughter Clara is buried in Section D, lot 91, grave 2. I think she might be close to her parents.
There is no birth or death dates for Euguene Post or daughter Clara Post, I have found that Eugene died Oct 18, 1932. I just want to make sure Eugene is being recognized for his service to his country.
I do have the information from findagrave for his wife Margaret that was added.
Thank you
Linda (Poste) Armstrong

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. Looks like I found the right person. Will you please link her to her parents? Or would you prefer I use the Edit tab?

Elaine B. Thurgood
I am trying to locate the graves of my grand uncle & his wife so that I can link all of my grandmother's siblings. I am looking specifically for Carole "Elaine" Breinholt Thurgood (she went by Elaine)DOB 24 Dec 1916; DOD 27 Dec 1999. She died in San Dimas, Los Angeles Co., CA. Can you give me any more details or a photo for the Elaine B. Thurgood you have listed here? Her husband was Vernon Carter Thurgood 1911-1998.

RE: Charles R. Wilson
I understand that many headstones are buried under 3-6" of sod in this cemetery due to neglect. Is there any way to find if a headstone actually exists and is buried? Katsand's picture shows no headstone at his gravesite. Thanks for any information you can provide. You guys are great! - Kim Mahone
