Hi,
I am the archivist for the Truckee Cemetery District and the Research Historian for our Historical Society.

First, let me thank you for your work on the Glidden Family. I am creating a Memorial book for the district and the society of our past residents who have family in our cemetery and was wondering if I could get permission to add your photos to that book. I will give full credit to you. Thank you for your consideration

Fifth Illinois websites
Hi Martha,
Have you shared your information about Thomas Apperson with Rhonda Kohl? She just created a new website for the 5th Illinois at http://fifthillinoiscavalry.webs.com/ to share and capture additional stories and documents. Also, I have a site dedicated to my 3g-grandfather, Jonas H. Roe, and family which transcribes about 100 letters at http://civilwarletters.150m.com/.

All the best,
Erik

I wish that the photo was better but their headstone was below a tree. I cleaned it up as best as possible.

You're welcome.

1910 Article on Eugene Shanahan
Martha- While doing my own family newspaper research - I had made some copies of the Anderson Valley News of 1910-1914, and one of the pages had a "fun" article about a buggy accident Eugene Shanahan was in in Feb. 1910. I have uploaded it for you on his Grave page under "Other". It is not when he died, of course, but is probably of family history interest to you.

CADI List Mom
Philomela Johnson
I searched the CA death index on the date of death given and didn't come up with a listing for a Philomela Johnson - no one in CA died on that date by that first name. I realize that you didn't create this memorial, but do the dates match what you have for Philomela? If so, she must have died out of state or under a different name.
