|Christine Klukkert||1910 Article on Eugene Shanahan|
Martha- While doing my own family newspaper research - I had made some copies of the Anderson Valley News of 1910-1914, and one of the pages had a "fun" article about a buggy accident Eugene Shanahan was in in Feb. 1910. I have uploaded it for you on his Grave page under "Other". It is not when he died, of course, but is probably of family history interest to you.

I searched the CA death index on the date of death given and didn't come up with a listing for a Philomela Johnson - no one in CA died on that date by that first name. I realize that you didn't create this memorial, but do the dates match what you have for Philomela? If so, she must have died out of state or under a different name.

I added the memorial for her off of the Lassen County Records. I don't know where Seeker got her information. I do know that Lassen County is currently trying to get all of their records straight. I know this may not help, and i am sorry about that, but that is all i know to tell you. KatClaw

I took the photo of James Daugherty that you requested. Beside him are Francis A. Daugherty, 1894-1970 and Helen M. Daugherty, wife & aunt, 1904- 1971. Do you want those photos also? I didn't see any request for them & didn't see them with a Find a Grave memorial.
The other question is this: There were flowers placed on all 3 graves, probably yesterday afternoon; I took the photos both ways - with & without the flowers. Do you want both photos on the memorial(s), or only the one with the flowers or the only the one without the flowers.

You're very welcome, Martha. Always nice to see a photo request for a stone I've transcribed. Glad I could help out !
|Dwain & Dorothy Swanson||Dorothea (Dora) Kielgast Meyer|
Were did you get the picture of Dorothea (Dora) Kielgast Meyer? She is my great-grandfather, Frederick August Meyer's sister-in-law. Her husband was Christian Heinrich (Henry) Meyer. I would love to connect with the family.

Thanks for updating the Knolle memorials! I am related to the Knolle family through marriage to a second cousin. I am glad the memorials are in your capable hands. Thanks again!

Oh, I'm sorry, all I know it that there were no McCormicks surrounding her, and I was running out of time. I sometimes photograph all the surrounding stones, but this time I did not because of limited time. If you'd like, I will photograph all of the surrounding stones on my next visit, and let you know what I find.
Have a happy Christmas,

Hi Martha. Regarding your request for the photos of the niche of Frederick and Anna Bishop, and Gervase Dawes, this is just to let you know that the glass-front niche does not have any names on it. The niches in this 'column' have the names etched in the glass and they are rather difficult to read. However, J-265 is above eye-level and even with zoom lens, the names on the niches surrounding J-265-C were almost unreadable. The only niche that could possibly be the one you are looking for does not have names on it. Also, it appears that an urn containing ashes is covered by a white cloth, rendering any writing that may be on it unreadable.
The only photo I have to fulfill your requests shows the column I am referring to, and in the dim light you will notice one of the niches looks white. I believe that is the one you're looking for. The names on all other niches in J-265, although hard to read, are definitely not Bishop or Dawes.
I am sorry this was not a more positive outcome.
