I am putting together both my mothers family and my fathers family. My mothers family is from Ellsworth Mi as well as Travaers City Charlavoix Grawon Mayfield WIlliamburg Elk Rapids and all areas including the Lansing Alpena Holland Mi areas. SO a big area. The names for the base are Thomas Thorp/ Thorpe and his wife Susan Gordon and Drost.. Dirk or Ira Drost and their wife Ella Wilborn. Dirk and Iras father was Gellis / Jellis / George and their mother was Elizabeth The Drost are from Holland Mi and moved North. The Thorpes from Mt Forest Canada.
As for the Terpstra / Van Der Gust The Terpstra side was from the Lamont / Coopersville area Darwin / Douwn or Dave was my grandfather and his uncle raised him in Lamont his uncle John and his wife are in the Eastmanville cemetery so That is where I am looking also Zeeland ..Johns children seem to be buried in Coopersville cemetery . Van der Gust where from Cook county Ill. So not much on that side.
