|Judy Williams||Buckner @ Mount Hope|
Hi. Mount Hope is buried under several feet of snow so no pics are possible at this time. But I looked in the cemetery records and came up w/ the following info. The Buckners share a plot with Bennett (d.1933) and Lena (d. 1914) Weiss. There are 3 Buckners there. Samuel (died in 1932 at age 78 in Miami Beach, Florida from acute myocarditis); Amelia (died in 1912 at age 54 in Luther, Michigan from stenosis of pelvic and stomach); and Alma (died in 1940 at age 45 in Flint, Michigan from carcinoma).

FYI. your memorial is a dupe of one created on 3/31/2013. It has the obit & family links!
His mother Mercy and my 3rd grandmother were sisters, making him a cousin but I dint think that would count. As of yet I have not connected with anyone directly from him.

You are very welcome. Having the plot location always helps! Don
Thanks for the military info on Edward. Since you are interested in the civil war did you know most of the Michigan Calvary did not ride horses but only had mules? Jan

I believe you are correct that it is Co. C, 49 Wis Cav.

Thank you for all the work you did with the ceremony for William Henry Egle. Know what you are
doing is appreciated.
I have updated the memorial wording. I believe the person meant to say he was a flag holder in parades for the local GAR post - not that he was a metallic flag holder found in a cemetery. So I've left that part in. Thx for the heads up.
