I research the McWh*rter family and I am a member of the McWh*rter family DNA project Kit# 15497.I am the DNA representative for William McWhirter 1720-1802 and his brother Henry McWhirter I live in Lincoln County Tennessee. I have 38 years of Family research to exchange with anyone who has connections or information on this family. I research North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina and Texas. My main families are McWhirter, Moore, Ferrier, Marlin, Baker, Lewis, Little, Delong. I work to expand all the memorials I manage and link each and every person to their family members. I do not care for people who horde memorials for no other reason than to say they have the greatest amount of memorials, that they plan to do nothing with "ever".|

That looks like the Wild West!

I was able to have Find A Grave transfer my grandmother to me when the owner refused. This woman uploads memorials the day the obituaries come out. I was busy making funeral arrangements so she beat me to it and wouldn't transfer. However, Find A Grave won't make someone transfer uncles, aunts, etc., no matter how close you were to them. So sad. I'll even transfer to people's friends as long as their not a collector.
This is in the help section:
What if a member will not transfer my relative to me?
If the memorial in question is a direct relative within four generations (siblings, parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents) to you and the original submitter is not direct family, then they must transfer the memorial. If they refuse to transfer your relative to you, contact firstname.lastname@example.org and we will work on it for you.
Please remember that there are thousands of contributors to Find A Grave, and it is highly likely that some of those contributors will actually be part of your family tree and share some of your ancestors.
Also, the goal is not to "own" every memorial of those to whom you are related. The ultimate goal is to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it.

How does that DNA thing work?

I'll go ahead and transfer her to you. In the future, would you mind stating how you are related? I've had people request things like their husband's uncle's ex-wife's third cousin. I'm always cautious when the number of managed memorials greatly exceeds the number of created memorials. Some people just seem to be collectors. Many of my family members that I grew up knowing well are managed by a woman who refuses to transfer them to me. I would rather a close family member manage memorials than a collector. Thanks!

Fulgham is an important line on my wife's side, I have 150+ in our tree. William is the brother of James Henry Fulgham Jr. her 3rd great grandfather.

Jesse, this is great news. I wish I had known about you about 3 yrs ago when I went to the Fayetteville Archives looking for any info I could find.
I will contact you sometime next week. A lot on my plate right this minute.
Thanks so much for contacting me.

You are very welcome. Did you notice that Paul McWhorter Memorial#149959554 was buried at New Canaan? He is the grandson of James Latimore McWhorter, son of Moses McWhorter. I also added Loyal McWhorter Memorial#149958689 but I am not sure about his family.
