I have been many things on this lifetime, but I am most passionate as a costume designer, seamstress/theatre goddess and writer.

A bit of a crazy gypsy, I have lived in Florida, Texas, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Illinois before returning to the family seat in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Jefferson County. Most recently back in Southern Illinois.

After my mother died in 2009, I logged on to Find A Grave while trying to compile as much of a family history as I could to pass on to my 3 children. Of couse, I have found the research compelling and addicting.


Mostly, I am looking to connect with the families of Spears, Ferguson, Nichols, Gladney, Butler, Ratteree, Chamblee, Wheeler, Brewer, Black, Lee Bruce, Sellers, Shortnacy, Hanson, and Proctor. There are ties throughout the state, and SC, NC, TN, LA, TX AL & GA are somehow connected. County Antrim, Ireland seems to be the origins of most of our family tree.

My mother, Sheila Frances (Spears) Sellers Hanson, was the youngest of the Henry Washington and Sallie Gertrude (Ferguson) Spears children. Thirteen out of 15 total children survived to adulthood, and there are currently over 120 living descendants and growing. Just getting the history of the current living generations documented is a challenge. (multiple marriages/divorces/out of wedlock/adoptions, et al.)

There are only four of the Spears siblings now living, so I hope to document as much as possible while the aunts and uncles are still with us.
