I have been interested in genealogy for about 11 years. I enjoy adding information to FAG and I enjoy adding obits to the memorials. I go to the Columbia, Marion County, Ms. Court House to go through the old news papers and add the obits to FAG. I appreciate everyone that has added the obits on the memorials. I am interested in the following names in my family tree: Fortenberry, Forbes, Tolar, Crawley, Merritt, Mullins, and McCleland (McLeland).

RE: Fortenberry &Pope
Thanks for answering. I am mostly interested in the Fortenberry family. I say a copy of the Book in the LDS library I Salt Lake City and got some of the information for out data base. Many Fortenberry's stem from Hendrick Van Valkenburg. He is what we call the 2nd branch of the family. Fondly, Sanddra Van Valkenbrg

Two Cemeteries
Shirley,
Can you tell me if the following cemetery (Gates~Blue Spring Cemetery ~ Improve, Marion County) is the same as the Gates ~ Blue Springs Community Cemetery on Crawley Road, Marion County, Mississippi?

Are you familiar with and have you visited this cemetery and are they actually the same cemeteries?

Thanks,
Bobbie M. Graue

RE: Fortenberry&Pope
I do not have information on James Sampson Pope. I have a Jules Sampson Pope, no marriage. He was son of Sampson Augustus Pope and Esther Barnes. He was born 11 Sep 1841 and was most probably named for ancestor Jules Barnes. Sorry.
