Bio and Links
Bio Photo I don't want to know EVERY ancestor, just the next one in line. Three of my grandparents were from Tuscaloosa County, Alabama (Herren, Deese, Shirley) and one was from Walker County, Alabama (Sparks) I have done a lot of work on these lines. We currently live in Giles County, Tennessee and since retirement, I am actually able to go out and photograph cemeteries.

I am putting together a virtual cemetery for all the Shirley Family descendants connected with Tuscaloosa County. If you have someone connected with the Shirleys please contact me.

If you have a connection with my lines please contact me.

Bascom Virgil Chism
Sir, I am doing research for the Sons of American Revolution. You mentioned an obituary for Bascom Virgil Chism in the Tuscaloosa News. Do you have a copy of that paper? I need a copy of the obituary that mentions his parents George Chism and Dovie Hamner. Thanks, Bob Baccus - 256-653-6539

RE: Roy Dean Hamner ...
Thanks so much for your help. Complete information for my father's side of the family remains elusive. Not sure I will ever know Nick Sr.'s biological mother's name, but I will keep looking. That generation's information (Oliver Turner Pendleton Hamner and whomever his wife was - the mother of Nick Sr. and Marion Hamner) is the only break in the line I've discovered. From that point back to Wales, Village of Hanmer, I've got a fairly clear line. Thanks again, and may God bless you and yours.

Bee Spring Cemetery
Good to know your are close to the cemetery. My parents James Marion Francis "Jim" Mitchell and mother Katie Lou Brooks Mitchell are buried there.
Also a brother James Marion Mitchell Jr. and a sister Ruby Jane Mitchell Hopper along with three nephews and a great niece. Just a few of relatives there. Have other siblings in Wright Cemetery, Blanche Cemetery, and Kirkland Chapel.

Thanks for letting me know her birthdate wasn't correct. Findagrave lets you know when you're creating a memorial that you have put a death date that is before a birthdate; guess they don't catch it when you put down that someone is 965 years old. HA!
