I've been interested in genealogy for over 30 years and research my family almost daily. Since joining Findagrave, I have become very interested in adding memorials and headstones for several cemeteries in the Orange County, California area.|
I have added memorials for the Westminster Cemetery, Fairhaven Cemetery, Santa Ana Cemetery and Melrose Abbey Cemetery. I continue to work at these cemeteries adding memorials as time allows.
AS TO SANTA ANA CEMETERY: Please note that many of the memorials entered have no birth or death information as the cemetery records do not have that information.
Any memorials I have added that are not related to me, I would be happy to transfer to a relative.
THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
BY THELMA GREENE REAGAN
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where others cried
For loved ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

Thank you for all your help.
I have a private tree on Ancestry but I didn't know I could go to a specified location (CA Death Record group).
I don't think Willella Mable "Luella " (Brazelton) Lemke - Arnold is on Find A Grave I haven't been able to find where she is buried yet.

Wow! What a memory.
I just put in a request for a headstone photo for him.
He died in 1919 and his wife,Willella Mable "Luella " (Brazelton) married Carl B Arnold.
What is the California Death Record site? I am not aware of it. Maybe I can find Luella and Carl Arnold.

Oh, THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Words can not express how grateful I am. If you hadn't created this memorial I would probably have never found Leona and now, her sister Eda Mae (Lemke)Letner.
They are my 1st cousin's 1x removed, my mother's cousins.
They were the only two I couldn't find in my grand aunt's family. I didn't have Eda Mae's married name.
Now I have both.
I will be sending you information and links to my great grandparents to hopefully add to there memorials.
Again, Thank You So Much!
