Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am glad to transfer memorials to anyone who has more information about the deceased than I do or is more directly related to the person than I. However, I would appreciate a request through the "Suggest a correction..." function on the memorial page. In it, write something like "Please transfer because {insert your reason here blah, blah - whatever you want to tell me.} That makes it so much easier for me because the system generates and sends an email to me with direct links to the memorial, making it SO much easier for me to handle your request. NOTE: I probably won't transfer to anyone who has been a member of findagrave for less than 6 months. Why? Because I've found some folks will sign up, quickly request transfers of all their family members, then get bored and don't make corrections after the newness of the site has worn off.

If you don't understand "Suggest a Correction", also referred to as "SAC", see this short video: How and Why to use the "Suggest a Correction" feature.

After a few years of just using the site for my research, I've decided to spend some of my spare time "paying it forward".

If you're like me and have been able to tie up loose ends in your genealogy using this site, please help out by contributing information whenever you can.

I live in Arab, Marshall Co., Alabama, was a lawyer once, and am now a critical care nurse.

TVA: If you're interested in knowing what graves were moved by TVA while building the dams and lakes, see this database and read this article "Drowned towns" (Some graves were not moved, but left to be covered in the water, by the way.)

Side note: If I add any information other than what is shown on the marker, I try to remember to include the actual transcription on the memorial. Since I didn't do that when I first started, not all of my memorials include that info.

An example of how you can add a ton of useful information to a memorial using HTML code: My Dad's memorial.

The Alabama Cemetery Preservation Alliance is a great resource.

Check out the Facebook Page I manage for the Arab Historical Society.

Deleting the Duplicate Memorial
I have tried twice for deleting this duplicate memorial for Emily Ray Going, but it wouldn't work either time. I didn't create either, and I only asked for transfer of one of them, and I'm not sure how I got both or why two were created on the same date.

You didn't tell me that I had the wrong birthdate. I changed January to June just now. Just to confuse us more I checked his World War I draft card-he went by "Pent" in it.

Thanks

I don't really know what to do. I go by my middle name, but I am still Marilyn Patricia. Medicare really messes you up. I have records of people who were for instance, John Thomas in Bible record and several census records, but decided to Thomas and so became Thomas John. My mother in law was Nannie Jane but went by Nancy. If we could only pick our names....Thanks

We can only share the info we find

FYI.... There appears to be another Find A Grave memorial for this person at Croninger Cemetery in Cisco, Piatt County, Illinois. Death date 1952. Just seems odd that she died first and yet her name is on his marker if this is her.

There is Clarice Dresback also with his stone but it has no dod. Not for sure if she is buried here or not, but will post the pictures with her as well.
