Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am glad to transfer memorials to anyone who has more information about the deceased than I do or is more directly related to the person than I. However, I would appreciate a request through the "Suggest a correction..." function on the memorial page. In it, write something like "Please transfer because {insert your reason here blah, blah - whatever you want to tell me.} That makes it so much easier for me because the system generates and sends an email to me with direct links to the memorial, making it SO much easier for me to handle your request. NOTE: I probably won't transfer to anyone who has been a member of findagrave for less than 6 months. Why? Because I've found some folks will sign up, quickly request transfers of all their family members, then get bored and don't make corrections after the newness of the site has worn off.

If you don't understand "Suggest a Correction", also referred to as "SAC", see this short video: How and Why to use the "Suggest a Correction" feature.

After a few years of just using the site for my research, I've decided to spend some of my spare time "paying it forward".

If you're like me and have been able to tie up loose ends in your genealogy using this site, please help out by contributing information whenever you can.

I live in Arab, Marshall Co., Alabama, was a lawyer once, and am now a critical care nurse.

TVA: If you're interested in knowing what graves were moved by TVA while building the dams and lakes, see this database and read this article "Drowned towns" (Some graves were not moved, but left to be covered in the water, by the way.)

Side note: If I add any information other than what is shown on the marker, I try to remember to include the actual transcription on the memorial. Since I didn't do that when I first started, not all of my memorials include that info.

An example of how you can add a ton of useful information to a memorial using HTML code: My Dad's memorial.

The Alabama Cemetery Preservation Alliance is a great resource.

Check out the Facebook Page I manage for the Arab Historical Society.

Yep. Only work part time so getting out and taking other pics can help relieve some stress.

Horton stone at Warrenton
There are a lot of unknowns about this stone. I believe the stone that goes with this memorial is next to Alfie Horton and is broken. It has no name on it other than Father, but the name Andy may be at the very bottom where broken. There is another stone that says Horton at Rest. Not sure if this is 3 different people or what. The dod appears to be 1916, but the months and days match. There is no year of birth but is based on the age at death. If I am wrong please let me know, and I will remove the picture.
