Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am glad to transfer memorials to anyone who has more information about the deceased than I do or is more directly related to the person than I. However, I would appreciate a request through the "Suggest a correction..." function on the memorial page. In it, write something like "Please transfer because {insert your reason here blah, blah - whatever you want to tell me.} That makes it so much easier for me because the system generates and sends an email to me with direct links to the memorial, making it SO much easier for me to handle your request. NOTE: I probably won't transfer to anyone who has been a member of findagrave for less than 6 months. Why? Because I've found some folks will sign up, quickly request transfers of all their family members, then get bored and don't make corrections after the newness of the site has worn off.

If you don't understand "Suggest a Correction", also referred to as "SAC", see this short video: How and Why to use the "Suggest a Correction" feature.

After a few years of just using the site for my research, I've decided to spend some of my spare time "paying it forward".

If you're like me and have been able to tie up loose ends in your genealogy using this site, please help out by contributing information whenever you can.

I live in Arab, Marshall Co., Alabama.

TVA: If you're interested in knowing what graves were moved by TVA while building the dams and lakes, see this database and read this article "Drowned towns" (Some graves were not moved, but left to be covered in the water, by the way.)

Side note: If I add any information other than what is shown on the marker, I try to remember to include the actual transcription on the memorial. Since I didn't do that when I first started, not all of my memorials include that info.

An example of how you can add a ton of useful information to a memorial using HTML code: My Dad's memorial.

The Alabama Alliance for Cemetery Preservation is a great resource.

Check out the Facebook Page I manage for the Arab Historical Society.

Taley Reynolds
Thank you for your interest in the truth. But when so many provide information and so many others record information, I am not certain that you can decide what is the truth. In 1900 Marshall County, Red Hill, Alabama, page 23, he is listed as Taley P. Reynolds. In 1910, Marshall County, Crawford, Alabama, page 59 he is listed as Taley P. Reynolds, 15. In 1920, Marshall County, Arab, Alabama, page 256, he is listed as Pent T. 25. In 1930, I believe he was listed as Tally P. Reynolds again in Marshall County, Arab, Alabama. His WWI Draft Registration card had Pent Reynolds. The Alabama death records list him as T. P. Reynolds. His Estate files have Penton T. Reynolds, but also call him P. T. Reynolds, Pent Reynolds, and Penton Reynolds. (His cause of deqath was ruled as an accident). Scott Reynolds listed him as Toley Penton Reynolds.
Another history that I have, possibly from Scott Reynolds lists him as Penton Tolen. People made mistakes and people changed their names. I don't plan to delete my memorial for him. I may add some of the info I have listed here. I may change his name. I have a Bible record, but I don't know where it is at this time or if Taley, Toley, Tally, Pent is in it. You may delete the memorial you created and you made add your picture to my memorial if your wish. Thank you. Another thing to consider is that he had a first cousin named Tollie Reynolds. He was the son of Charlie and Ida Reynolds. Just a little more confusion to play with. Bible records, birth certificates, death cetificates, obituaries, tombstones, census records all have mistakes. My name is Marilyn Patricia. I have always gone by Patricia. Now because of Social Security I have to go my Marilyn. I thought I had changed my SS card to M. Patricia years ago but here I am. Have a great Thanksgiving Day.

Philip Fry Marker Photo
Johnny,

You took a lovely photo of my ancestor's stone along with a new DAR marker from 2011. I'd like to use a copy of your photo as part of a scrapbook page on my blog, where I'm doing the 52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks challenge. The memorial ID is 34039929 and the name is Philip Fry. My ID is 47575242.

May I copy and use your photo?

Thanks
Beth

Jefferson Davis Tidmore
Greetings!
My name is MaryPatti(McMurdie)Keene. I am "being guided" - not sure how else to describe this rather intense interest in finding more information about my mother's family history...
Her name is/was Loucinda Elizabeth (Betty Lou) Farmer McMurdie. She married my father at age 19 and moved to Idaho where she lived and raised her family until her death of a rare cancer in 2006.
Her parents were John Reginald Farmer and Lena Mae Tidmore. Unfortunately, growing up in Idaho I only saw them for limited periods during vacations throughout my growing up years. So unfortunately I missed out on lots of the family history stories only grandparents can tell.
Lena's parents were Loucinda Elizabeth Butler and Jefferson Davis Tidmore. Mama had written those names and approx. birth and death dates in the "Family Tree" page of my Family Bible that I was gifted with on my 14th birthday. She never knew her grandparents so didn't talked much about them.
So,if you are my "long-lost cousin" ;)I would so appreciate any information or assistance you could offer to help in whatever it is I am searching for...

Love and Blessings,
MaryPatti
