Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am glad to transfer memorials to anyone who has more information about the deceased than I do or is more directly related to the person than I. However, I would appreciate a request through the "Suggest a correction..." function on the memorial page. In it, write something like "Please transfer because {insert your reason here blah, blah - whatever you want to tell me.} That makes it so much easier for me because the system generates and sends an email to me with direct links to the memorial, making it SO much easier for me to handle your request. NOTE: I probably won't transfer to anyone who has been a member of findagrave for less than 6 months. Why? Because I've found some folks will sign up, quickly request transfers of all their family members, then get bored and don't make corrections after the newness of the site has worn off.

If you don't understand "Suggest a Correction", also referred to as "SAC", see this short video: How and Why to use the "Suggest a Correction" feature.

After a few years of just using the site for my research, I've decided to spend some of my spare time "paying it forward".

If you're like me and have been able to tie up loose ends in your genealogy using this site, please help out by contributing information whenever you can.

I live in Arab, Marshall Co., Alabama, was a lawyer once, and am now a critical care nurse.

TVA: If you're interested in knowing what graves were moved by TVA while building the dams and lakes, see this database and read this article "Drowned towns" (Some graves were not moved, but left to be covered in the water, by the way.)

Side note: If I add any information other than what is shown on the marker, I try to remember to include the actual transcription on the memorial. Since I didn't do that when I first started, not all of my memorials include that info.

An example of how you can add a ton of useful information to a memorial using HTML code: My Dad's memorial.

The Alabama Alliance for Cemetery Preservation is a great resource.

Check out the Facebook Page I manage for the Arab Historical Society.

Thanks to everyone who has ever added data to Find A Grave!

Icy Maye Owens
Her death record on Ancestry indicates her father was Albert Anderton and her mother was Jimmie Ledbetter. Her maiden name being Anderton. And her Brother is Rader Willmon Anderton and is buried next to her in a family plot.

RE: Rice Cemetery
Funny thing happened when I was searching trying to find the headstones: A relative of all the Corbins saw me looking and stopped. He said there are several more Corbins next to some of the current headstones that are without a headstone. And that several were married to their 1st cousins because their dad picked their wives in order for them to get a piece of the family farm and live there.

The Walls Family
Thank you for processing the info on the Walls family I sent you. Thanks especially for the link to the drowned towns and graves in Alabama. My great great grandfather Baker is likely one of those either in Alabama or Tennessee. His family was very careful to mark all of the other graves with large tombstones so that stands to reason. Thanks again.

Vandergriff children at Sweet Home
There appears to be a Sarah Nell and Mary Nell Vandergriff, twin daughters. Their stones are behind Albert and Ola Vandergriff. Not for sure of their connection.

Nickles / Nichols at Wynnville cemetery
Next to Joseph S and Martha C Nickles is a Chester son of JS and MC Nichols. The last name is spelt different but I believe this might be their son. Still checking to see if I have the one you are wanting.

This person has a shared stone with Undyne Newman. Undyne may not be dead. I have been fussed at lately by posting a picture of someone not already dead. Just a heads up if this picture disappears.

I am truly in awe of the fantastic job you have done on your father's memorial. What a fabulous example of what FindAGrave can be.
