Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am glad to transfer memorials to anyone who has more information about the deceased than I do or is more directly related to the person than I. However, I would appreciate a request through the "Suggest a correction..." function on the memorial page. In it, write something like "Please transfer because {insert your reason here blah, blah - whatever you want to tell me.} That makes it so much easier for me because the system generates and sends an email to me with direct links to the memorial, making it SO much easier for me to handle your request. NOTE: I probably won't transfer to anyone who has been a member of findagrave for less than 6 months. Why? Because I've found some folks will sign up, quickly request transfers of all their family members, then get bored and don't make corrections after the newness of the site has worn off.

If you don't understand "Suggest a Correction", also referred to as "SAC", see this short video: How and Why to use the "Suggest a Correction" feature.

After a few years of just using the site for my research, I've decided to spend some of my spare time "paying it forward".

If you're like me and have been able to tie up loose ends in your genealogy using this site, please help out by contributing information whenever you can.

I live in Arab, Marshall Co., Alabama, was a lawyer once, and am now a critical care nurse.

TVA: If you're interested in knowing what graves were moved by TVA while building the dams and lakes, see this database and read this article "Drowned towns" (Some graves were not moved, but left to be covered in the water, by the way.)

Side note: If I add any information other than what is shown on the marker, I try to remember to include the actual transcription on the memorial. Since I didn't do that when I first started, not all of my memorials include that info.

An example of how you can add a ton of useful information to a memorial using HTML code: My Dad's memorial.

The Alabama Alliance for Cemetery Preservation is a great resource.

Check out the Facebook Page I manage for the Arab Historical Society.

Memorial #62349463
This is the grave of my uncle. I sent an edit for the spelling of his name to be changed to Safford from Sanford. It was changed to Sanfford. His name was Safford. I do not know why the inscription reads Sanford, but it is not correct. Can you make the change on findagrave?

Hi Johnny,
Margaret was my great uncle's first wife. I have a photo of her on his memorial. I'll speak with my mom and see if I can get more information for her bio. You may transfer to me if you don't have a direct link. I didn't know her because she passed on at such a young age. I knew his second wife; she preceded him as well, and a third whom survived him. Thank you. Sandy

Louranna Horn Sparks Cherokee
Hello. I am a forth great grandson of Louranna Horn Sparks of Marshall Alabama. My great aunt and grandfather on that side told me she was a full blooded Cherokee indian. On account of my research it seems her father was white and her mother was the daughter of a Cherokee Chief named John Young Tassel Watts. Can you clear up whether she was full blooded or not? Any help would be appreciated.

RE: Moses Bobo
Johnny,
You had said the Moses Bobo had been moved. Was he moved to a different cemetery or somewhere else within Maple Hill cemetery?

Charner Sorter
1808-1893
If you are in the area of Happy Home Cemetery in Guntersville Alabama; can you take a picture of Charner Sorter's headstone? His wife Nancy Sorter may be resting there too. I would greatly appreciate it.

Evie Garmon Grave Info
Johnny,

I did the suggest and edit on Evie's death date. According to the social security death index as well as other info I have, she died Dec. 17th rather than on the 24th. She was my great grandmother.
