Bio and Links
Bio Photo I became interested in genealogy several years ago, while attending a family reunion. Someone made the statement "If someone doesn't write this information down, then it's going to be lost". I realized how true that was, so I began my searches. I think "Family" is very important, and sometimes younger generations don't think much about the present time, then later begin to wonder. Of course, after all the info has been gathered, then family members request copies of the info, which I am happy to share.

Now that I have become aquainted with Find A Grave, I am trying to get as much info and photos added, as possible, to help others locate their loved ones.

If requesting transfers, or asking me to do corrections or additions, please do so, through the edit tab on the memorial you are requesting.

My great great grandmother was Matilda (Brewer) Purcell who is at the same cemetery. My great grandma is Sadie(Purcell) Patterson at the same cemetery. I started looking into the Brewers but was more focused on finding my Grandfathers siblings. Thanks for letting me know and if you are on ancestry I would be happy to share any info I have but it's much further down the line

Take care

I want it to be right so everyone can enjoy photos that are posted. I don't have it saved anymore but I have the hard copy of it. Let me see what I can do. Thanks so much for letting me know!

I visited the cemetery when I went home a few years ago because so much of my family is there. Are you related to the Brewers?

Thanks again,

Totally Disrespectful!
Um I don't know who you are, but you really need to ask before adding pictures on the graves that I'm in charge of! That's really disrespectful that you just up a picture on the profile like that...WITHOUT ASKING!!!!!

Dug a little more, wife's maiden name Smith... so Sarah Smith Shilling 1847-1922 in Illinois Death Index says buried in Little Prairie. There are Shillings in Little Prairie on Find a grave, just not the right generation.

My appetite is satisfied, but if you are headed there before winter, looks like more memorials could be started. I keep my headcounts on Ancestry.

Help Finding John W Shilling
Dear Janice,

I am looking for a 3rd great uncle. He is on the Census in Edwards County from 1860 to 1930. Here is his birth dates Jan of 1847 or 1848 and Death 19 Nov 1933. He should be buried in Edwards County. His sister, my great great Grandmother was Sarah Jane Shilling Greathouse, buried in Ebenezer Cemetery. He also married a Sarah.
Is there an inexpensive way to find him?
Last clue is he was in Ellery twnship in 1920 and Road District #6 in 1930. I don't know which way these are from Albion.

Notice the place of death on his memorial. I will check to see if I have something on this.
If Olney is correct will change it.
