|Clay Musa||RE: I seek Schneider family tree|
Hello. Since my last message I found Teddy. Teddy was the nickname for Helen Patricia Schneider. Daughter of William Leslie Schneider and Mary Myrtle Barron. Born 5-9-1924. She died 10-10-2003 and is buried at Desert Mem Park in Cathedral City CA. Now I'm looking for her daughter born in 1943. This daughter is my half sister I've never known. I spoke with Teddy's son born 1949 and he was not aware of an older sister. So daughter was put up for adoption or raised by another family member. Other family member could have been Lulla L Schneider B 1912. She married Wayne Morgan and went by Louise. Lived in Santa Ana CA in 1948.
Any advice for me?
I appreciate your feedback.

I've deleted both requests until I have a chance to review the records I was researching. Thanks for the info on deleting edits. Appreciate it. Brenda

Are you around, (reachable).
|John Stoutimore||RE: Christian Grosz/Gross|
In cases like this, I would make the spelling match the way the family spells it now. (My own surname went through myriad spellings. One gravestone is spelled so badly that I reckon that the family couldn't spell their name and the stonecarver did his best). But I couldn't find survivors, and Gross is a hard word to search on in the newspapers, because it's a also common word. In Missouri death certificates, I found alternate spellings: Grosz, Grosze, Grose, Gross, Grosse. I think Grosz may be Hungarian, because there are several others with that spelling in Findagrave. Sometimes this work is quite a mystery, isn't it?

I noticed you maintain many pages for the Schneider family. I seek a Teddie Schneider born around 1925. She lived in So CA in the early 1940's. Her grand mother was Hattie Schneider Austin (born Barnett). Hattie was married to Frank W Schneider. Do you have a Teddie (or maybe Theodora) in a Schneider family tree?
I appreciate it.

You're welcome. I will get the pic added to it this week.
|Kartomb||RE: Harry Henry Berg|
Thank you for trying to correct the error. This will be a fun place of birth to prove,but it was Wisconsin. The transcriptions of Wisconsin births were awful (either bad handwriting or bad transcriptions) Harry was transcribed as a girl named Mary Berg BIRTH DATE:16 Feb 1886 BIRTH PLACE:Lincoln, Buffalo, Wisconsin GENDER:Female RACE:White FATHER'S NAME:Fritz Berg FATHER'S BIRTH PLACE:Town of Lincoln MOTHER'S NAME:Sopie Drangly MOTHER'S BIRTH PLACE:Buffalo City.
in 1884 his sister's birth was recorded as Lidia Berg Birth Date:9 Oct 1884 Birth Place:Alma, Buffalo, Wisconsin Gender:Female Father's Name: Friz Berg, Mother's Name: Sopia Frenchigly (Ancestry.com Wisconsin, Births and Christenings Index, 1826-1908)
The best information I found to back up the Wisconsin birth is the *1895 Minnesota State Census/Stearns/St Cloud which has family of Fred B Berg born Wisconsin and Sophia Berg born Wisconsin Lydia Berg F/W age 10<1885> born Wisconsin, Harry Berg M/W age 9<1886> born Wisconsin, Edward Berg M/W age 7<1888> born Minnesota, Roy Berg M/W age 4<1891> born Minnesota. They have lived in Minn. 7yrs 10 mo<1887> and in district for 5yrs 1mo <1890>.
*1900 U.S. census says he was born Feb 1886 in Wisconsin.
*1905 Minnesota state census says he was born in Wisconsin
*1910 U.S. census says he was born in ?Missouri
*1918 WW1 draft says he was born in U.S.
*1929 Marriage cert. says he was born in Pocatello, Idaho
*1940 U.S. Census says he was born 1886 in Wisconsin (and he was the informant.)
The informant on his death cert. was not a family member and no idea who gave the information for his obituary but both say he was born in Minnesota which is wrong.
This man has made me crazy researching him. Harry worked for the railroad and his son (My Grandfather) was born out of wedlock in Canada and later adopted by his birth father Harry Berg and his first wife Hester. He abandoned them and remarried Anna Bone who charged him with bigamy and divorced him,he then went on to marry twice more and have children the same age as his grandchildren. He is listed as Mary, Harry, Henry, Herman, Herbert in various records.
