|After retiring, I took over my father's work on my family tree and it led to photographing headstones of my family in Iowa. So I thought, why not help others who live farther away? Plus, I find cemeteries so interesting and peaceful. There's no better feeling being outdoors on a nice day!|
Please feel free to use any of my photos.

|John Burnett||RE: Eastman Graves in Linn Co. Iowa|
Hi Ms. Gail:
Thanks so much for checking this and I really excited that the grave is identified. He was married to Maria Barbara (Sager) Peasley Marquis. He was her 3rd husband. She had been widow twice and had children from her first marriage to Jeptha Peasley. He went out to Iowa with his son Oliver and died out there. I don't know if Barbara made the trip, but she later died in Ohio where she is buried. My wife descends from one of the Peasley children.

You have an Eastman Grave---in Linn County, Iowa that I might can shed some light on--Currently you have it Eastman--no firt name. I beleive it could be the Grave of Apelles Eastman who died in 1869. I cannot decipher your photo, but if you could examine it see if you can see any death date or age. Apelles would have been about 68 or 69 when he died based on his birth year of 1800. He has other relatives in the cemetery.

Ida Mary Spaight, 1897-1936. I seen that you had created this entry, I thought maybe you were related. I hope to add her to my virtual cemetery along with her parents, siblings and children as I continue to connect my relatives here.
Many thanks for your work, this is a great help to my genealogy research. T/C, Kelly

I was actually looking for someone else when I came across it and then I went to the office and see what she had in her records. I try to look before I put in new ones and if I find that there was another one I'd delete it. Nothing like a good mystery....
The Geesaman family is deeply appreciative of this transfer, thank you. OZARKCHERYL
Thank you very much for your kindness in allowing me to take care of this Marine.

but did yo the notice about their photos it looks like they go together or near each other o many these to do go and the other peter might son
|Mary McCormick||Peter (52181956) an)d Clara (52181026|
I have some questions about these two,
first in I noticed in the photographs of the graves that Peter's has a particle lamp stand in it, (Which I using only a reference to my comments)and that same stand is in the photo on Clara's too, so my question is are these two graves together at the cemetery, and could it be that they were married? Because in my research of family members on my grandfathers link the OB said that his daughter Clara who marriage Peter Scholl, was mentioned, but the concern I have is Peter on the site here is link to a Margaret and that got me to wondering if you might have linked the wrong photos up to people here, or Peter had another wife (which I wasn't aware of) could you would you help in clearing up my questions and thanks

No need to transfer the memorial, but thanks for the offer. I know where to find her and John if I need to look them up again :)
