Greetings fellow Find A Grave members. I'm Mike Tillinghast and live in Northern Ohio and am working on my family genealogy. I am a direct descendant of Pardon Tillinghast. I am his 11th Generation Great Grandson and the 7th generation on our Tillinghast Family Farm. My fraternal twin brother and I raise cattle and horses.
Also researching other family relatives: Sommers, Gardner, Stacey, Hine, Welch, Hill and Burnham.
I am a photo volunteer for Find A Grave. It is a very good past time and I enjoy "Headstone Hopping" all around Erie and Huron Counties. It is very rewarding to assist families and provide genealogical information. I also enjoy the excitement and satisfaction when I find that elusive headstone I've been looking for after a long challenging search.
Also taking photos of grave sites in area cemeteries for our local Historical Society.
One impressive thing I have observed in every cemetery I have been in is that veterans from the Revolutionary War to the present have veteran markers at their grave sites. As a Navy veteran, I am very pleased that my fellow veterans from all branches are remembered. One of my ongoing local cemetery projects is to obtain grave markers for veterans that do not have one.
My long range intent is to provide photos and/or Memorials for those in area cemeteries who do not have them.
With the exception of my relatives, I will be glad to transfer any memorial. Please feel free to ask.
Bridget Gill Fennell Mike, I remember hearing about the Tillinghasts as I was growing up. Bridget Gill Fennell is my maternal great-grandmother. Her son is my grandfather Thomas Joseph Fennell. His daughter was Ruth Fennell Arnold. I am her daughter. I also remember them referring to Thomas Joseph's sister, Babe, who I believe was a Tillinghast. And I remember meeting her briefly, once, on a farm in Ohio. Just getting into searching my family tree. Thanks for posting this!
Shumer Memorial# 25673357 Hi Mike, This is rather embarrassing, but I have discovered that we (my cousin Linda and myself) ment to remove the memorial for 25673357 as we connected another that we made. I do have a photo for it, but love the photos you have on this one. I wondered if you would be able to post them on our gr gr grandfathers other site (# 63474608)? If not, we can certainly work on moving all of ours over. Thank you so much for the consideration.
Baumer, Jacob John You took a photo of the grave of Alice Gertrude (Van Boxel) Baumer. Was she with her husband, Jacob John? I do not have his death date. They lived in Cleveland most of their life, but, Jacob was from Fremont, Sandusky, Ohio. His parents are buried at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Fremont, OH. Alice Baumer: 30352131.
