Bio and Links
Bio Photo Greetings fellow Find A Grave members. I'm Mike Tillinghast and live in Northern Ohio and am working on my family genealogy. I am a direct descendant of Pardon Tillinghast. I am his 11th Generation Great Grandson and the 7th generation on our Tillinghast Family Farm. My fraternal twin brother and I raise cattle and horses.

Also researching other family relatives: Sommers, Gardner, Stacey, Hine, Welch, Hill and Burnham.

I am a photo volunteer for Find A Grave. It is a very good past time and I enjoy "Headstone Hopping" all around Erie and Huron Counties. It is very rewarding to assist families and provide genealogical information. I also enjoy the excitement and satisfaction when I find that elusive headstone I've been looking for after a long challenging search.

Also taking photos of grave sites in area cemeteries for our local Historical Society.

One impressive thing I have observed in every cemetery I have been in is that veterans from the Revolutionary War to the present have veteran markers at their grave sites. As a Navy veteran, I am very pleased that my fellow veterans from all branches are remembered. One of my ongoing local cemetery projects is to obtain grave markers for veterans that do not have one.

My long range intent is to provide photos and/or Memorials for those in area cemeteries who do not have them.

With the exception of my relatives, I will be glad to transfer any memorial. Please feel free to ask.

RE: Peabody family
Mike - Thank you for checking on Addie Horton Peabody. I've also checked the Ohio Obituary Index and local newspapers from Elyria and Newark but with no luck.

I notice from your profile that you're interested in military markers. I learned today that Elmer M. Peabody (No. 91042189), whose civilian gravestone you photographed, should also have a military marker. I found a copy of the application filed by his mother in 1950. He had died in a military hospital in Corsica in WWII. Could you take a look the next time you're in the Wakeman Cemetery?

Peabody family
Mike - Thank you for the prompt acceptance of my edits on the Rollin and Marion Peabody memorials. I'll be sending more, although they may not all be your memorials.
Are you located in Wakeman? If so, I wonder if you can determine whether Addie Grace Horton Peabody is buried in the Wakeman Township Cemetery? She was the first wife of Harvey D. Peabody and died in 1899-1900.

I sent Brenda a copy of his obit. If she adds it, can you delete the obit you added so I could add a picture of Dale or delete one of the gravestone pics. Thanks, Cheryl Slone

Hello Mike,
Thank you so much for the photos of Mattie and Jacob's headstones. They are wonderful. It means a lot to me to have them, and I live too far away to get them myself.
