Bio and Links
Bio Photo Greetings fellow Find A Grave members. I'm Mike Tillinghast and live in Northern Ohio and am working on my family genealogy. I am a direct descendant of Pardon Tillinghast. I am his 11th Generation Great Grandson and the 7th generation on our Tillinghast Family Farm. My fraternal twin brother and I raise cattle and horses.

Also researching other family relatives: Sommers, Gardner, Stacey, Hine, Welch, Hill and Burnham.

I am a photo volunteer for Find A Grave. It is a very good past time and I enjoy "Headstone Hopping" all around Erie and Huron Counties. It is very rewarding to assist families and provide genealogical information. I also enjoy the excitement and satisfaction when I find that elusive headstone I've been looking for after a long challenging search.

Also taking photos of grave sites in area cemeteries for our local Historical Society.

One impressive thing I have observed in every cemetery I have been in is that veterans from the Revolutionary War to the present have veteran markers at their grave sites. As a Navy veteran, I am very pleased that my fellow veterans from all branches are remembered. One of my ongoing local cemetery projects is to obtain grave markers for veterans that do not have one.

My long range intent is to provide photos and/or Memorials for those in area cemeteries who do not have them.

With the exception of my relatives, I will be glad to transfer any memorial. Please feel free to ask.

RE: Bernard McQuillen
Hi Mike I just saw your message as I dont get in here very often but could you check your records...I have a picture of the stone I posted beside his son Paul's stone at 6 years and his daughter Ruth's stone just months old ..Then His stone (pictured) All the same size and his wife who predeceased him in 1929(Catharine) Has a much larger stone to the right but her stone is engraved as wife of Bernard McQuillan. This I believe is in St Aloysius in Cresson Pa. His Father John McQuillen is buried there and His brother Joseph also.

Dear Mike,

I guess because I don't own the page I can't link it. Would you mind adding Norma's parents to her page? Her dad is Memorial # 150685043 Wayman Cortez Jordan and her mom is Helen Mona Starkey Jordan, Memorial # 150684997. Once they are added then her sisters should show up also. Thank you.

Dear Mike

Would you mind if I linked Aunt Norma with the rest of her family? Recently her other sister died and I have their parents memorials on here.

RE: Norma Irene Bruns #62728518
Dear Mike,

Thanks again for doing this for our family. I grew up in Chicago always wished my parents would move to Ohio and live on a farm but they wanted to live in the big city. Was quite envious of my cousins living on a farm don't think I ever told them though.

Dear Mike,

I noticed you had the middle initial of my Aunt Norma wrong. Then I noticed it is wrong on her tombstone so I am assuming that is where you got your information. Her middle name is Irene and I requested an edit so I guess that goes to you. Thank you for posting a memorial for her it's nice to know someone cares. Velma Seymour, her sister, is my mother.

I am also a Find A Grave photo volunteer.

Hi Mike,

I was wondering if you would delete the headstone photo with the military stone in it. I would like to post a close up of his military stone. Please leave me a message if you are willing to do so.

I have discovered that the marker next to Linda's is that of Stanley Robert Sheppard (1936-1945), a grandson of Frederick and Bertha Pool. Thanks for your help and consideration.
