Let's not forget the rules about obits and naming living persons.
Anyway, we started out just to take requested grave photos.
It didn't take long to realize that several of the local cemeteries were inadequately represented on FAG and some were just a mess: many graves were not listed; a lot of graves were listed in the wrong cemeteries; and photos had been posted with resolution too poor to read. One cemetery had most of the birth and death dates on FAG off by 2-years 1-month and 7-days. Another cemetery was listed by the wrong name. We tried our best to fix things. That's why you see my name "everywhere in Tangipahoa Parish"as one member commented.
BUT not really: someone new needs to do HOLLY GARDENS, ROSE MEMORIAL PARK, SANDHILL, COLONIAL, WOODLAND, TANGIPAHOA TOWN, ... , and all those little cemeteries on private property that require charm and finesse to gain access.
Also, someone needs to go back and GPS all those graves, but we are too old now.
If you send an edit, please be sure that you are absolutely correct.
As a footnote, I did worry for a while about privacy issues, but I came to the conclusion that it's going to be done by someone, so it is best that it be done by someone who will do it accurately and respectfully.
