Bio and Links
Bio Photo I hope this year brings you health and happiness and of course love and friendship.
Be kind to old people, children and animals, they all depend on us, by all means be kind to each other. Wishing you all the Best of the New Year also.
~ Attention Everyone ~
Just a reminder I will transfer any person to relation or best friends if they are not my relation. So please do ask. Check out my virtual cemeteries under "My Who" , No Relation " and "Relation of Relation ", I'm not finished "sorting so just ask a "No" never hurt anyone and you never "Know " you may just get a "Yes"!
P.S. It's rude to post maps of cemeteries on the memorial page, it uses up photo space and to be honest they are ugly, it belongs on the Cemetery page itself, please do not post any on my memorials or I will ask you to remove them. Thank you.

~ Genealogy~ It's a thrill to all of a sudden pass through the brick wall and find the information you have been seeking. I have " searched " for family members for over 15 years and that includes just doing research at the Genealogy Library before it became available on the Internet, but if the truth be told, all my life, as we grew up and listened to the stories of our parents and grandparents and if your lucky ,great grandparents.
I still love doing it.
I suddenly realize I have been working into the wee hours of the morning and have lost all track of time. My three loves are,my family, animals, and genealogy.

Sometimes I feel a sadness sweep over me while looking at the tired worn faces and reading how difficult life was at times for people. To endure what they did makes me very proud to be a small part of them.I have found that many of my family members have been buried without proper headstones, in fact many are in unmarked graves, I can only assume this was because of financial reasons ...........
There are times I find someone and learn how sad their life was and other times I feel good to find that people have been happy in their lives and had loving, caring and kind family members.
I spent my childhood and teenage years around Drain, Curtin, and Cottage Grove Oregon,so I'm familiar with those areas even though it's been years since I left.I now live in Tacoma, WA
If I go back to Oregon I stop and visit my sleeping friends and relatives, touch up their resting spots and move on, can't dwell too long as it's very bittersweet every time I return.

I never ask for a transfer if the bio is completed, the only time I ask for a transfer is when they are not related to their manager of the memorial and have been sitting there with no bio and no date, no information, what a shame to have a memorial with nothing on it, if I'm related I will ask for the transfer,or send all the information and connections.I even fill out all the information and bio's on people that are not related as I have done so many genealogies just for fun.

I'm not here to collect memorials, I'm here to leave a family legacy for others and show my deep respect for family members that have passed on~
Anyone wanting a copy of any of my photos, please ask permission first.
The donated photos are the property of the person named below it, they have taken the photo for that memorial and no other website. Please ask them.
I am only too happy to help anyone in their genealogy .Just do not copy as it has taken me years of research to put this together, please ask, as I do have a copyright and would hate to see it turn up on another website/s without my approval.I don't approve of giving genealogy to a Internet site and have them sell the information to you, it's free from me.
It is put here for the sole purpose of connecting family members and honoring those that are gone. Please respect my requests.I might also add that family members are welcome to use any of the information ( please ask my permission first ) as long as it not sold or put on a site that sells memberships. The people that are unrelated to me , feel free to use the information I have posted, if you would like a memorial, just ask as long as they are not related.

One thing I have noticed , there are even hoarders on FindaGrave, people that have the memorials for years and years and have done nothing with them, and have no intention on transferring them to anyone that will write bio's and respect them.
Some won't even post information others send for the bio's or post the correct information . This I find very discouraging and really sad as they do not seem to understand the entire concept of FindAGrave, nor do they care, they are here for their own selfish reasons "Hoarding" and being in control, even if it's control over dead people.
We are doing a dis-service to the people that have passed on when we are more interested in having the highest numbers of graves and not interested in writing a beautiful and interesting bio or memorial for them. So many just sit there with no care given to them. They really arn't memorials with a blank page.
It's not about us, or how many memorials we can post, how silly is that? We are here I hope to do good for others by leaving correct family information. I don't care how much work you put into it, don't be selfish, transfer what needs to be transferred to family members so they can write bio's.
There are many wonderful people I have met on FindAGrave, kind, considerate, thoughtful, and going out of their way to help other people, I appreciate all of them and respect the service they have done for others, my hat is off to them.
My hat is also off to the staff at FindaGrave, they do a wonderful job." Thank you" to all of them.

~*I will be happy to transfer anyone that is not my direct relative, just ask!~*If I send you information for a memorial via email, or the edit tab, yes it is yours for the memorial, I do not need or want credit, just trying to help and not trying to dupe you into transferring anyone to me, If I want a transfer I am up front and will ask, OK? Great!

I want to thank Melinda Wahl for all the really great photos of headstones, and for all the research she and Toni Mendive at the Northeastern Nevada Museum. They have donated all of the McDermott family and branches photos, thank you both.
Thank you all for leaving notes and/or flowers for my family and friends.

William Boyl or Wilhel Beil
I would like to thank you for all of your hard work and the love you have poured into the accuracy of the stories and records you have put on Find-a-Grave. I would also like to ask your permission to post on my Ancestry site the information on the above grave. I have already posted it as I found it on another person's site but will gladly remove it. I have also saved it as a document my family's hard records which I will pass on after I pass. I have gone back and credited you as the author and researcher.

Regarding the above information, I am trying to get William Boyl/Wilhelm Beil, my 6th great grandfather, recognized by DAR as a patriot.I have 11 other ancestor's who have been acknowledged for their service during the Revolutionary War but Wilhelm has not. I have been trying to locate the documents sited in your write up but I am a little green at this and I am not having any luck. If you are willing to guide me in my efforts I would appreciate it very much. You may contact me at

Sincerely yours,
Mary Kammlade

Well done
I like your profile text and I could not agree more. I have not read it until just now, and if you read mine you will find they say almost the same thing - so, obviously, we think alike on those topics!

Just wanted to say thank you for your outlook toward the pages. I agree that it is about the person whose page it is meant to honor, and the pages should be taken care of as best as is possible. It is very disheartening to see pages just kept blank for no reason, or page owners refuse to transfer or refuse to add a thing to it.

I have sent beautifully written obituaries that are not in copyright any more, complete with source info and credit, all typed out, or hand written bios from years of research, and the owners refuse to post it. It is disappointing, because I know that info could help someone in their searching.

We get flack for wanting to make this about the deceased but to me that's how it ought to be. Thank you for all you do.

RE: Jemima Montgomery.
You're welcome! Usually I'll transcribe myself but you had so much information already I didn't want to waste the time if you didn't want to use it. I'm glad you did! :)

RE: John L. Webb
I'd be happy to, but can you tell me how to send you my email address without having it show up as a public message? Find-a-grave sent me a warning message that my hitting "reply" to your message would put my email address on your public message board.

Your Profile page/Bio
Juliane, What a nice bio. You have touched on many of my same thoughts and feelings about F-A-G. I think there are many wonderful, generous contributors on this site but I have had dealings with a few who are only in this to up their number count.

I rarely ask for a transfer, and only when it is a relative who I have been close to and can add valuable info about them. Possibly family info that only my Mom or Dad would have known or old family photos from over 100 years ago.

I have had members transfer memorials to me (unsolicited as well as unwanted), especially if I send them edits and info which they do not want to add or have the time to do so.

I love this site and feel it is a great thing for all of us doing research and trying to pay homage to long dead, but not forgotten family.

John Thrush Sr.

I have been looking for the resting place of John Thrush for years - I guess I am not the only one. He must have died in Missouri or on the way to KS. I would assume he would be buried with Sarah in KS if he died there. So his resting place may have had a makeshift marker that has long degraded by the midwest climate. BTW, I descend from Isaac. Thanks for the post.

You mention that you would post Peter's will at a later date. Have you done so yet because I would like to go over it.

My name is Dee Hemphill and I am research Charles Jonathan Hemphill's family. THANKS.

Peter was a rich and powerful man ,in his Last Will and Testament he divided all his land , money and slaves between his wife and living children .

His will was probated by his own court on November 7, 1814.
