I hope this year brings you health and happiness and of course love and friendship. |
Be kind to old people, children and animals, they all depend on us, by all means be kind to each other. Wishing you all the Best of the New Year also.
~ Attention Everyone ~
Just a reminder I will transfer any person to relation or best friends if they are not my relation. So please do ask. Check out my virtual cemeteries under "My Who" , No Relation " and "Relation of Relation ", I'm not finished "sorting so just ask a "No" never hurt anyone and you never "Know " you may just get a "Yes"!
P.S. It's rude to post maps of cemeteries on the memorial page, it uses up photo space and to be honest they are ugly, it belongs on the Cemetery page itself, please do not post any on my memorials or I will ask you to remove them. Thank you.
~ Genealogy~ It's a thrill to all of a sudden pass through the brick wall and find the information you have been seeking. I have " searched " for family members for over 15 years and that includes just doing research at the Genealogy Library before it became available on the Internet, but if the truth be told, all my life, as we grew up and listened to the stories of our parents and grandparents and if your lucky ,great grandparents.
I still love doing it.
I suddenly realize I have been working into the wee hours of the morning and have lost all track of time. My three loves are,my family, animals, and genealogy.
Sometimes I feel a sadness sweep over me while looking at the tired worn faces and reading how difficult life was at times for people. To endure what they did makes me very proud to be a small part of them.I have found that many of my family members have been buried without proper headstones, in fact many are in unmarked graves, I can only assume this was because of financial reasons ...........
There are times I find someone and learn how sad their life was and other times I feel good to find that people have been happy in their lives and had loving, caring and kind family members.
I spent my childhood and teenage years around Drain, Curtin, and Cottage Grove Oregon,so I'm familiar with those areas even though it's been years since I left.I now live in Tacoma, WA
If I go back to Oregon I stop and visit my sleeping friends and relatives, touch up their resting spots and move on, can't dwell too long as it's very bittersweet every time I return.
I never ask for a transfer if the bio is completed, the only time I ask for a transfer is when they are not related to their manager of the memorial and have been sitting there with no bio and no date, no information, what a shame to have a memorial with nothing on it, if I'm related I will ask for the transfer,or send all the information and connections.I even fill out all the information and bio's on people that are not related as I have done so many genealogies just for fun.
I'm not here to collect memorials, I'm here to leave a family legacy for others and show my deep respect for family members that have passed on~
Anyone wanting a copy of any of my photos, please ask permission first.
The donated photos are the property of the person named below it, they have taken the photo for that memorial and no other website. Please ask them.
I am only too happy to help anyone in their genealogy .Just do not copy as it has taken me years of research to put this together, please ask, as I do have a copyright and would hate to see it turn up on another website/s without my approval.I don't approve of giving genealogy to a Internet site and have them sell the information to you, it's free from me.
It is put here for the sole purpose of connecting family members and honoring those that are gone. Please respect my requests.I might also add that family members are welcome to use any of the information ( please ask my permission first ) as long as it not sold or put on a site that sells memberships. The people that are unrelated to me , feel free to use the information I have posted, if you would like a memorial, just ask as long as they are not related.
One thing I have noticed , there are even hoarders on FindaGrave, people that have the memorials for years and years and have done nothing with them, and have no intention on transferring them to anyone that will write bio's and respect them.
Some won't even post information others send for the bio's or post the correct information . This I find very discouraging and really sad as they do not seem to understand the entire concept of FindAGrave, nor do they care, they are here for their own selfish reasons "Hoarding" and being in control, even if it's control over dead people.
We are doing a dis-service to the people that have passed on when we are more interested in having the highest numbers of graves and not interested in writing a beautiful and interesting bio or memorial for them. So many just sit there with no care given to them. They really arn't memorials with a blank page.
It's not about us, or how many memorials we can post, how silly is that? We are here I hope to do good for others by leaving correct family information. I don't care how much work you put into it, don't be selfish, transfer what needs to be transferred to family members so they can write bio's.
There are many wonderful people I have met on FindAGrave, kind, considerate, thoughtful, and going out of their way to help other people, I appreciate all of them and respect the service they have done for others, my hat is off to them.
My hat is also off to the staff at FindaGrave, they do a wonderful job." Thank you" to all of them.
~*I will be happy to transfer anyone that is not my direct relative, just ask!~*If I send you information for a memorial via email, or the edit tab, yes it is yours for the memorial, I do not need or want credit, just trying to help and not trying to dupe you into transferring anyone to me, If I want a transfer I am up front and will ask, OK? Great!
I want to thank Melinda Wahl for all the really great photos of headstones, and for all the research she and Toni Mendive at the Northeastern Nevada Museum. They have donated all of the McDermott family and branches photos, thank you both.
Thank you all for leaving notes and/or flowers for my family and friends.

|Lori Lemmons Harvey||Thrush Family|
I am trying to find relatives who may have any pictures of my Thrush family ancestors. I am related to the Thrush's in several way. My direct grandparent ancestor is Abraham Lincoln Thrush Sr. I descend from his daughter Sara Ann Thrush Huntley, Estes, Belieu. Then my biological grandmother Lizzie Jennie Lehnherr married Abraham L. Thrush Jr. and another Thrush sibling of those two named Mary Jane Thrush was the second wife of my biological grandfather William Evans Centers. I descend from the Huntley's as my Grandpa was John Earl Huntley, the grandson of Lizzie Jennie Lehnherr Thrush, McDowell. Our family does not have any pictures of our Thrush family members and would love to be able to get some copies. You can contact me at email@example.com and my name is Lori Lemmons Harvey.
My Dad lives in Owl Creek Park a few miles from Moffat Cemetery. I took a few pictures there before.

Hi...my cousin told me they have taken care of a lot of Paige's memorials. She still has more to send.

Thank you very much for the information. I'm behind on my findagrave.com emails and I'm trying to get caught back up. I appreciate the input and have added the information to his memorial. If you have the death certificate I will include that also. I would also love to have a copy of it, since he is a cousin of my husband.

Hi again. I have not entered this request because I have put this work in a "to do file" in the order received and, it happens to be down the list quite far. In fact, the reason I try to get other Contributor's to handle like requests, as alluded to in prior correspondence, is I have so many requests via Find A Grave Messages, E-Mails, Telcons, etc., that I feel this is the best way to process my volume in a fair way to all. Sorry, but at some point in the future, this will get done. In the meantime, however, I would still be most happy to transfer to some body else (by their request) who might more expeditiously handle this. If you should have any other recommendation(s), I would gladly entertain such. Bye for now and have a good day.

Thanks for the info, have a beautiful day! Tomorrow is the first day of Spring!!

Thanks for the census info, I have added it. However, on the birth info, it says the town in Henry County was called Prairie, and I can't find that town listed. I appreciate you sending the info and hope that you're doing well, we have all been sick here. But, only 3 more days till Spring!!

Juliane, You're very welcome. I can't believe how much snow we've gotten this winter. Everyone around here is sick of the snow, cold, and nasty weather. I am happy that you're pleased with the photos. I'll be sure to let you know when I have better photos to post once the weather becomes nicer. Have a good weekend. Sharon
