|I've been doing genealogy for many years but have been really into it for the past few years after my retirement. With the internet and all the information at hand it is so much easier then when I first started. |
I appreciate so much, the efforts of all of the contributors to Find A Grave, I have been able to find so much information about family members.
I am more then happy to return the favor by taking pictures of gravesites for any of you with family members in the Los Angeles area.
My direct family lines are: King/Baldridge/Jenkins/Wilson/Qualls/Kingen/ Melvin as well as countless side lines. My parents are from Arkansas and Missouri.

It is with the stones of Becky and Greely, my husband's great grandmother.

Everything I input for Vandalia was from a book a friend of mine obtained from the Porterville Cemetery District in 2003 or 2004. It's possible I made a typo error, but right now I don't have access to the book to be able to check it. I didn't add the photo, someone else added it later, and it does look like it ends in a 9. However, the notes I included were taken from the cemetery records, and it stated that she was 15 years old. So if her birth date is correct, the date from the records should also be correct. If I can locate the book to check it out, I will let you know. If you find any information that confirms any date, please let me know.
|Joanne||RE: Lourah Hamah Fine|
Missed this one....sorry.
The cemetery has Lourah's middle name as Hannah, not Hamah even though it is spelled Hamah on her grave stone. Hamah could be the the way Hannah was pronounced in the old way from Arkansas. She died nearly 100 years ago. It appears that the cemetery always has a manager that could spell. The California Death Record states Hamah.
In a few days I will send you the Fine Information that I have from 1934
Hold tight......I must get some canning done.

Although I am not the owner of Davids memorial I made the request for the correction. Hopefully Jill will take care of it. Perhaps someday we can meet. We live in Michigan.

Thanks for the marriage date for Samuel and Samantha Hall, but I did not create their memorials. You probably want to contact Jill Hall. ~ And thanks, I can use the marriage date for my family records as Samantha is a distant relative.
|Craig Thweatt||RE: Infant and Thomas Higgs|
I got to thinking maybe they could be in the other Mount Zion Old Cumberland Presbyterian in Hickman co so I looked at my photos from there but saw a Susannnah Hibbs instead of a Higgs wife of E.M. Hibbs born 1857 died 1901.
If im ever that way in the future then I will try and look closer to see if I can find the Higgs.

|Kerry Moser||RE: Squire Wear|
when i go back up there will investigate it some more..I know there isn't a marker, at least not by the others, but might look into seeing if there is something else on jimmie's
|Kerry Moser||Squire Wear|
We did not find a marker for Squire Wear. We did find marker's for Jimmie, Joanne, Josephine and Lloyd. I have created pages for them and added the photos.
I am wondering if Jimmie is Squire as there are no dates on his marker..they did refer to young boys as squire back in the day.. if that is not the case, then Squire has no marker.
We are working on taking pics of all the markers in Oakesdale and posting on Find A Grave... then adding pages for all those that do not have markers.. it's an ongoing project.
