Family history has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started taking pictures of headstones before we had the luxury of digital cameras---oh my, I am dating myself!! |
As I have explored and stomped cemeteries, now with my digital camera, I am working to refine some initial photos. While stomping for family headstones, I have taken pictures of names that have been seen in my genealogy database. In many cases, I have made contact with distant relatives and always enjoy hearing from them.
I am quite happy to share the headstone pictures I have taken. Please feel free to use them at your disgression, as they are there for all to follow the links of their roots. HOWEVER--other photos I have added may not be used or copied without specific approval by the owner...me!

I would like to take over management of Mildred Randall #96746979 and Lloyd Randall #9646958. They are my aunt and uncle. Kathy Henze #48297628. Thank you.
May I ask what sources you use to find the birth and death data you send me? Is it ancestry.com, or some other? I like to make note. Thank you!

Mine was entered first. The other was made from another memorial that had been entered in August. Find A Grave is notified, so they can make the determination.

Alice Spray Moore #140647703 also a daughter lists in her obituary that her mother's name was Cecelia (Kerins) Spray. I have the original obituary from the newspaper. What should I do. It seems that one of them is incorrect. Should we both leave notes on the daughter's memorials that there is a difference? I work in a large FamilySearch library in Mesa AZ. There was a large collection of printed obituaries from 1992, LaSalle County, donated to us a couple years ago. I have finally had time to start putting this info on Find A Grave. Whatever info I send for any memorial that I request additions, comes from this collection. I am sure there will be more obits that are on individuals that you have submitted. I will accept whatever decision you make. Thank you.

Thank you so much for your dedicated work on the Find A Grave site! Here is some additional information about Raymond W. Rodda:
Full name: Raymond Westly Rodda
Born: 8 Dec 1923, LaSalle, LaSalle, IL
Died: 6 Jun 1948, Peru, LaSalle, IL
Father: Albert Rodda

This information came from my mother-in-law, Martha Marie (Cornell) Ofenloch, when my husband and I were first married. Martha's mother, Margaret Marie (Dunn) Cornell, and Raymond's mother, Jennie (Dunn) Rodda, were sisters.
|Thomas Erbes||RE: Katherina Kessler Erbes|
There is a family of Kessler's in the Restland Cemetery in Mendota, Illinois. I just have not been able to connect them with the Erbes family.
I did find a reference with John Erbes the son of Valentine and Katherine, on his death certificate has his Mothers Maiden name as Dickmiller. I have not seen this name with the same spelling twice.

I just wanted to forward the source information of the update requested I had sent to you earlier.
“Valentine Erbes (1843) and his wife Katharine (Deichmiller), initially farmed the home place before purchasing their own homestead in southwestern Dimmick Township. There they were the parents of twelve children. Valentine and the younger children moved to Peru’s Tenth Street after Katherine’s death.”
“Mendota Area German Pioneer Families” Arthur L. Ladenburger 2003, p. 252.
For your information.
