Family history has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started taking pictures of headstones before we had the luxury of digital cameras---oh my, I am dating myself!! |
As I have explored and stomped cemeteries, now with my digital camera, I am working to refine some initial photos. While stomping for family headstones, I have taken pictures of names that have been seen in my genealogy database. In many cases, I have made contact with distant relatives and always enjoy hearing from them.
I am quite happy to share the headstone pictures I have taken. Please feel free to use them at your disgression, as they are there for all to follow the links of their roots. HOWEVER--other photos I have added may not be used or copied without specific approval by the owner...me!

Good morning, Kathy,
Thank you very much for the info. I am unsure, though, what your message about Frank meant. Do you mean they are his parents??? Thank you for all your help and all of your work on Find A Grave. You do so much!

Hi, Kathy! Josepha Wasrzyniak Sobkowiak is linked to Constantine Sobkowiak as spouse. However, there is record in the Illinois Statewide Marriage Index of Josefa Wawszynsk's marriage to Frank Sobkowiak, in La Salle Co. Can you please tell me where you found the link to Constantine as husband? Is it that way in the cemetery records??? Thank you for your help!

|Janine M.||Obituary for Katherine Spayer|
Here is a copy of the obituary for Katherine Spayer published in the LaSalle News Tribune, today, Sept. 16, 2015.
Katherine (Vallero) Spayer, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, was welcomed into God’s arms and those of her loving husband and family on Sept. 12, 2015, in Eckstein Hospice Center, Scottsdale, Ariz.
A prayer service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday in Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in DePue. The Rev. Kevin Creegan will officiate. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Park in Spring Valley.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home.
She was born Oct. 19, 1916, to Battista and Lucia (Giachetto) Vallero in Dalzell. She lived there until she married Daniel (Jack) Spayer and moved to DePue. They were married 59 years.
She worked at Westclox in Peru until her retirement. In 2008 she moved to live with her daughter Katherine (Spayer) Busto, where she was currently living, in Scottsdale, Ariz. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in DePue and Our Lady of Joy Catholic Church in Carefree, Ariz.
She is survived by her daughter, Katherine (Spayer) Busto of Scottsdale; two grandsons, Clinton (Amber Angel) Busto, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Joseph (Lisa) Busto of Bartlett; and her great-grandsons, Blake, Carson, Cade, Colton and Kyler.
She left us with a legacy of love and memories of family being most important in life. She loved gardening, cooking, and traveling. She loved visiting and spending time with her daughter’s family. Her grandson’s families were a source of immeasurable joy. Her great-grandsons held a very special joyful place in her heart.
“Our hearts are heavy with our loss, but her spirit lives in each one of us.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucia (Giachetto) Vallero and Battista Vallero; her loving husband Daniel (Jack) Spayer; her son-in-law Dennis Busto; sisters Marie Fenza, Minnie Goodwin, Elizabeth Mecagni and Rose Serri.
