I grew up in New Paris, Indiana. Graduated from New Paris High School in 1962. Played basketball, baseball and ran track. Moved to Arlington, Virginia in 1965, where I met my wife Pat. We have 2 sons' Ron and Craig and 7 grandchildren.

I joined the United States Park Police in Washington, D.C. in 1971 and retired in 1995, with the rank of Sergeant. We moved back to Goshen, Indiana in 1997.

I have been working on Genealogy for the past 30 years, and am currently the Director of the LDS Family History Library, in South Bend, Indiana.
