Bio

Hi! My user name is R2Salzgber, my real name is Ralph Edward Salzgaber II. I enjoy tracking my family geneology and researching graveyards, and excited about finding out more about my ancestors. My mom, Betty Hall Salzgaber lived to 99 yrs did a lot of research and found my great-great-great grandfather on my Father's side was one of the first sixteen settlers and the first Lutheran to settle in Columbus, OH. On my Mom's side I have two 5xgreat-grandfathers who fought in the Revolutionary War, and two even "greater" grandfather's who came over to America with the pilgrims. Most of Mom's people came from Guernsey and Noble counties in Ohio.

Along a different line - I am also very interested in "historical" golf courses as well. Among other notable courses, I have played the oldest continually open public golf course in America - VanCourtland in NYC - and the oldest continually used tee box - at the Homestead in VA - and the eastern most golf course in the USA - St. Croix in Maine.

How does this relate to Find A Grave? Well, I love to golf, so if you have a nice golf course near the library or cemetery you want me to do research in, let me know and I'll be glad to assist before or after a relaxing round of 9 holes! Or if you'd like to get together for a relaxing round of golf and sharing info re geneology and/or Findagrave, give me a call. Have clubs, will travel!

Good luck on your research.

PS - I'm not sure, and I can't prove it conclusively, but I'm pretty confident that in this endeavor, it is better to be the researcher than the one being researched!!
