Find a Grave ID

Bio

We became interested in FAG while Robin was doing chemo. Taking gravestone photos got us outside and could be done a little at a time. There are cemeteries everywhere, one close to home and one close to the hospital.

Please remember that we are all volunteers, not professional photographers. My equipment consists of a Canon Powershot A430 circa 2006 and a really good flashlight. I don't use chalk or any other stuff like that. Someone has posted photos of chalked gravestones on memorials that I manage. Those are not my photos and those gravestones were not vandalized by me.

If you have a photo request that has not been filled for a long time, look at the cemetery description and if your request is reasonable. One cemetery near here has been turned into a public park and all the gravestones have been removed so there is nothing to take a picture of. The county home/poor house cemetery has tiny grave markers with no names or dates on them so requests for "clear photos of the dates" or "all the family gravestones" are totally impossible to fill. And, Sweet Mother of Pearl, if there is already a photo on the memorial, use the note area to give a reason for asking for another one. Many memorials haven't got even one photo yet.

If you want photos of two or three different gravestones, please submit requests for two or three gravestones. Please don't put in just one request with other names hidden in the note where these old eyes might not find them.

If you are looking to have a date or bio changed on a memorial, please the "Suggest Edit" button, DO NOT put your edits in a photo request. You'd be surprised how many people do this! The photo volunteer and the memorial manager are often two different people.
