I was born in Oklahoma, as were my parents. I am in the process of locating my relatives. Lopez on my father's side and Hunt, Robinson, Bridges, Hargrove on my mother's side. I also have some ties to the Cantley family in El Reno. My grandfather, Augustine Lopez, worked for the Rock Island Railroad, as did the Robinsons on my mother's side. I would be glad to take pictures for you in Canadian and Oklahoma County. |

"Your tombstone stands among the rest;
neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
on polished, marbled stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I'd exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
in flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
one hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
and come to visit you."

Thank you so much for the photo of Sgt Cleveland's burial site. I apologize for taking so long to extend my appreciation, sometimes emails can be easily missed. But I do thank you and you are appreciated!

I, too, do not believe he was buried. The hate was terrible and sad. A life is a life, he was aware of the risks and it's not as though he thought himself invincible. To express hate for him after his death is just uncalled for... I am not a fan of bullfighting either, but I did not grow up in this culture...I was informed he is not considered famous, so someone else has his memorial and trying again. Not understanding how he can not be deemed famous, when in Spain he was really no different than one of our famous athletes...it makes me wonder if sometimes FG does not base this decision on American fame...tsk, tsk.
There are "famous" people on here that other countries wouldn't know or recognize their name as well...
My complain session... LOL.. sorry,

Thank you for the information. I was only able to find his birth year, so this is very appreciated. I have found where he was cremated, but can not locate a burial location. I am beginning to wonder if his ashes were buried at all.....have you seen anything about the actual burial?

There are no headstones for these individuals. I got information from Vera at the cemetery of all the surrounding people and could not find their headstones.
