Bio

I grew up and lived in Battle Creek, Calhoun County, Michigan most all of my life, but since 2000 I've lived in Augusta, Kalamazoo County, Michigan. I started keeping track (names, birthdates, anniversary dates, etc.) of my living family members and a little genealogy around 1990, but stopped in 1995 due to my busy career. Now I'm actively documenting my living family members, ancestors and even some extended family ancestors using the Family Tree Maker program and ancestry.com.

I really like the feeling I get when I solve a family mystery or find relatives my family didn't know we had, so genealogy gives me a lot of satisfaction. When I find relatives who are new to me I instantly feel a connection, even those who lived and died years ago. I've also found some long lost living relatives in Greece (my father's side of the family).

If you think we have a family connection in any way, please contact me at [email protected], I'd love to hear from you.

I'm not on Find A Grave to see how many memorials I can amass so that I can have my numbers posted in the "Top Contributors" category. I'm here to make memorials to pay tribute to our families and friends and hopefully help others to find theirs as well.

I truly enjoy helping others by photographing grave markers. There are times that I may photograph markers that are near the ones I was asked to take photos of, or if I see a marker with one of our family surnames on it. If there is no memorial for the extra photos that I take, I create one. If by chance I happen to create a memorial for a relative or a friend of yours don't hesitate to ask for a transfer. I don't feel the need to keep memorials that I have created, unless they are family and/or connected to my family tree. I only created them so that someone may find a family member. You are welcome to use the gravestone photos that I take for your family tree if you wish and no I don't need you to give me credit for taking the photo.

Take care and God Bless,
Don Babas
