Hey everyone! I started studying my family history and genealogy when I was ten, so I have been at this for 31 years now. Over time I realized how interconnected my family was with everyone else's, so I started keeping records of everything I found out. I never knew what bit of info might come in handy for me or someone I knew. I hope that whatever little I do on here helps someone out. I have a new email listed here since my hotmail account stopped working.|
If I have unintentionally done anything to "step on someone's toes" or offend anyone I apologize. Everyone has different standards and you can't please all people.
One note here: There seems to be some confusion concerning Huskey Grove Cemetery in Gatlinburg and Huskey Cemetery in Rocky Grove. These are two completely different cemeteries and I will not delete any memorials I have added to Huskey Grove, because they are the right ones. Anyone who has added Huskey Grove memorials to Rocky Grove needs to delete theirs. This is becoming a sore issue with me.

David, let me say that I think it is great the work you are doing to help others through Find A Grave. I started my genealogy journey in the 1980's and at that time visited many cemeteries seeking family.
Now I am unable to visit cemeteries but you and others have made it possible for me to still visit cemeteries with my extended families. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I hope you won't mind my making copies of your photos for my Ancestry and Family Tree Maker family files. I am trying to get as much done as I can and as the Lord allows me time so that my extended families will have access to their family heritage. To me FAMILY is important.
Many thanks dear friend for all you have done and are going to do for others.

re: Huskey Grove vs. Huskey - I guess I would be upset also. I wish you luck.
Hello and greetings. First of all, I am not related in anyway. I just stumbled across these two memorials while I was looking for someone else. My mother's father came from Cocke Co., Tn. which is close but in the 1860s etc. not that close at all. I was helping someone and to be honest I have no idea of what I wrote or even if I saved it or where to find it. I do so much and I almost never get back a response so I don't worry about that. Saying that, a lady just transferred me 3 memorials that I made suggestions on but never asked her to transfer them to me. I checked and it was about a year ago when I wrote her. Go figure.
My folks grew up in the Missouri Ozarks but I did not. However, I spent a little over 10 years working on building church's, re-habing church's or help build houses for Habitat in S.E. Ky. near Harlan, Hazzard and Hyden to name some relative larger towns. I was introduced a bit to the way of "the hills" so I am a bit familiar with how life was and is down there.
I just looked in Find A Grave and I did not find a Henry Franklin in Rocky Grove, Tn. Sevier Co. in the Huskey Cemetery. Maybe your problems with "Kristen" are over. Did you check lately? I have "no dog in this fight" so all I could suggest is that if there still is or ever is a dupe of one of your memorials, work with Find A Grave to resolve the matter. I have worked with them but have had limited success. Usually trying to work with another person first is best but if they are inactive or not nice then you have to live with it or try Find A Grave.
Thanks for the nice email and I wish you all the best in your research and in your Henry Franklin situation.

you're welcome and you're right - we're probably cousins a few times/ways.
|Charles Dean Crosby||Sugarlands Cemetery|
Do you know if there is more than one cemetery in Sevier County named Sugarlands? Trying to find a Isaac Parton who died in 1914 and death certificate indicates he was buried at Sugarland Cemetery. I have searched the one located off the Old Sugarlands Trail near the West Prong of the Little Pigeon River in the GSMNP. I thought perhaps in 1914 their may have been another. Thanks, Dean
|Jennifer Hatfield||Katie Covington #55578251|
Hello. I included her find a grave number because some people insist it isn't necessary and a equal amount insist, rather rudely, that it is, therefore I'm including it.
Okay, on to my question. Are you any relation to Katie Covington in the Boyds Creek Cemetery in Sevier County, Tennessee?
The reason I ask is that I am searching for a cousin by the name of Katie Hodges who is said to have married a Covington but there is no proof.
I look forward to hearing back from you.
my Find A Grave # is 47818421

Hi, David, I noticed on Nancy Myers #24322174 memorial that you left flowers for her and called her your Aunt. Do you know if Nancy's maiden name was Burchfield??
Thanks for your help.

Tommy is the son to to Jeptha Trantham and so on.... I still am in contact with some of the trantham's who live here in VA and some who live near Cherokee, NC. Again, If anyone who may see this post have information about my family, I'd greatly appreciate an email. You can email me at Tricia_aka_kitten@yahoo.com. I have been out of town the past couple days. Will add the new photo's and new memorials for Evans Chapel, sometime in the next couple of days. Thanks for your help.
|Charles Dean Crosby||RE: Duplicate Pictures|
Thanks for the info. I just moved here in Aug 2013. I contacted Find A Grave yesterday about these issues, and they have already corrected. Now I am wondering if some of the duplications they merged into Forks Of River, actually belong in Evans Chapel. What I did was on Friday I went to Evans Chapel and took pictures of everything. The memorials I did not locate, that were duplications in both cemeteries, I gave to Find A Grave, and they merged them together at Forks of River. Was this correct? Would like to meet with you someday. Thanks
