I live in Dalton GA with my family and have been an avid genealogists for over 25 years. Semper Fi to all my Fellow Marines out there !!! (1979 to 1991)|
If I have entered a family member of yours and you would like to manage the site, please let me know and I will be happy to transfer it to you. I will transfer ANY of your relatives to you - Aunts, Uncles, Distant Cousins, Etc... If you are requesting a transfer, please use the "Suggest A Correction Form" on the Memorial Page you want transferred. I will transfer any memorial that I am not related to. Please if you have correction or you want a transfer YOU HAVE TO USE THESE STEPS - Go to the memorial - TOP RIGHT - EDIT - ADD A SUGGESTION - add information you want added or link to spouse and parents - you have to list the memorial numbers to link.
If I have entered anything incorrectly, please let me know.
My pictures are your pictures. Feel free to beg, borrow, steal with no intent to return. I take pictures of headstones out of kindness ... not for my ego or for the "numbers."
PET PEEVE: Find A Grave "number" collectors who have no interest in genealogy or family links and refuse to transfer to relatives unless they meet so-called "findagrave guidelines". Shame on you! and... what's up with these "photo copy rights" - you got to be kidding me !!! Why put a photo out on the Internet and then say you have to ask permission. Really....
I started creating a Virtual Cemetery for my fellow Marines and then I came across Pam's "The Marine Corps Project" and WOW – she has been working on hers for a long time. Marine Corps history can be told here, even from the ones that can no longer tell their own stories.
Semper Fi !!!
Another contributor that has a lot of virtual cemeteries for fellow Marines. " Marine Corps – Semper Fi.

Could you please transfer above memorial to me? This is my grandfather whom I never knew b/c I wasn't born until 1973. I am trying to trace our family. My father was James Wallace Helton which is Poley and Jessie Lee Helton's son. My father was the only child of this marriage.
could you transfer these family members to me, I am sure there are more here that are mine so you may be hearing from me again. I am trying to gather my family together before I plan my trip back to Dalton
|Cynthia Metheny Farrington||Thank you|
Thanks for the photos of the tombstones of JA Farrington and Florence Farrington. We have tried finding them with no success. Do you know which section they are in? We were hoping to find his first wife, Margaret Dycus Farrington.

Catherine Sanders Frost was named after her maternal great-grandmother Catherine Sanders McCaleb. Unfortunately, the information about her grandmother in the link to Elizabeth Buchanan Frost is mistaken. Elizabeth's mother was William Buchanan's first wife, Catherine McCaleb. William and Catherine married about 5 March 1773 (date of bond) in Guilford Co., North Carolina.(North Carolina County Registers of Deeds. Microfilm. Record Group 048. North Carolina State Archives, Raleigh, NC.) Catherine McCaleb Buchanan died about 1780 and William Buchanan had a second marriage to Frances Montgomery. He died in 1795 and his widow Frances and his former brother-in-law, James McCaleb, administered his estate. (Estate Papers, 1780-1926 (Rockingham County), North Carolina. Division of Archives and History, Raleigh, North Carolina.)
My husband is descended from James McCaleb and I have done a lot of research on this family. So, I can document what I am saying.
Because both Ancestry and FamilySearch are now linking to Find a Grave, it is really important to make sure that the information in a memorial is accurate. I was going to contact the individual who contributed Elizabeth Buchanan Frost's memorial. Sadly, she died last fall and no one seems to be tending the memorial. So, I am at a loss as what to do.

Hubby & I searched for your photo requests in both Wood County, WV, and Athens County, OH and came up empty. We will go again this week & look again. I've done some research on Mr. Pool, Mr. Cline & both Cleggs, so I may be able to find them using that info. I can contact the offices for the cemeteries to see if they can help. I so hate coming up empty!

I see on your bio that you live in Dalton, GA. I would ask a favor...
I would love a close-up photo of the memorial located in the middle of West Hill Cemetery. There is a huge 9 slab memorial dedicated to the soldiers killed in battle at Rocky Face Ridge. A photo of the memorial was originally posted by the late Ronald Bradley, but I cannot read it. I have the info I need (as far as my ancestor's name, Samuel J. Wallace), but cannot read the middle stone. Is this something you might be able to help me with?
