|James Light||RE: Parents of Sarah Elizabeth Russell|
Thank you. I guess the census taker got it wrong, or they changed the name they decided to call her (at least temporarily), or something. The 1880 census only offers one child (female) of that age, and she is Mary E. I can find no later record of her, so that is additional evidence that they are the same person. Wish we had a 1890 census (not for the first time). Thanks again.

Could you share with me the sources you have that show that Sarah Elizabeth Russell's parents are William Henry Russell and Margaret Jane Watson? I have census records for this family, but I cannot find any Sarah among the children. There is a Mary E Russell born about 1870 per the 1880 census, so maybe the census takers got the first name incorrect, or maybe there is some other explanation, but I can't figure out the right answer without a bit more information. Thanks.
|Rosemary McFarland||Reul Herbert Long|
Was doing some more research and came upon the link for Reul. His father, Leonidas Preston's obit, it says he was 8 mos. old at death. The stone you photographed, when enhanced, says death was Feb. 23, 1899. Do you know anything one way or other?
|Rosemary McFarland||Samuel Vaughan 1750|
I found a listing for his will in the 1831 Russell Co. Will Book #1, pp. 69-71 which lists an inventory of is estate. The date is 1831.
Do you know if he died, and it took until the last heir reached 21 to file his will?
Trying to get verifiable records for our families history.
