RE: Horace G Zimmerman
I "think" the woman is Maggie Quincy, his 2nd wife. I just put a picture of Maude & her first husband along with sons. I got these pictures from Horace (Bud) and Maggie's son's youngest daughter. That particular photo was marked Mary's mother, who was Bud and Maude's daughter. So I'm confident that is Maude. I've put Perry's card, Maude and Bud's son on Find A Grave also. I find genealogy so interesting. I've been able to piece together quite a bit that Mom did not know about this side of the family. Do you know what happened to Maude's children when she died? They were living with them on the 1920 census. I know Mary stayed with Bud.

Google Joseph W. Larkins, Margaret Johnson, Iowa.
Clara Evaline (Eva) Larkins was born March 17, 1881 in Auglaize County Ohio. Married Harvey W. Easterday November 1, 1899. Therefore she was not in the US Census between 1880 and 1900 with her family. She was however in the 1885 and 1895 State Census of Iowa.

RE: cumfort whitney
that makes us 5th cousins once removed, according to my precise calculations (well, actually, my genealogy program's calculations, but I don't think it will mind if I take credit).

Feel free to email me at if you want.

RE: cumfort whitney
thanks for letting me know that I was right about Cumfort's (I think I will stick with the spelling of Comfort, if you don't mind)lineage.

Are you a descendant of hers, or just interested in the Johnston line?

I meant John was my (not by) direct-line ancestor

cumfort whitney
I just came across your findagrave listing for cumfort whitney johnston. Can you confirm my belief that she is the daughter of Nathan Whitney and Eunice nee Cottle? Nathan is buried here in Washington County, Ohio and his widow Eunice is buried in Proctor, Wetzel Co., WV. If so, she would have among her siblings, Thankful Whitney Johnson or Johnston and Rev. John Whitney, by direct-line ancestor.

Thanks for your help.
