Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hi - I'm Bonnie Miller - I spend part of the year in Massachusetts and part in Florida.

I look for identified photos wherever I can find them, and sell them on eBay. It's amazing how many people find their ancestors in my eBay store - and it's very rewarding. I've recently started going back through the scans of photos I've sold and adding them to this site. Please contact me if you'd like to help with this effort.

While I'm researching photos to list in my eBay store, I check to see if there's a findagrave memorial. My research usually turns up census records that show a lot of info I can use to update a memorial - spouses, children, dobs, etc. Since Edits have become so easy, I often send out a bunch of edit requests for a family group. Thanks to everyone who takes the time to accept them and make findagrave better. I love that I'm able to connect family members who are scattered all over the country.

If I've sent you an edit request, it's because I've researched that person or someone in their family and have a photo of them in my eBay store.

Many of the memorials I've created are not my family, so don't hesitate to ask if you'd like one transferred to you.

Wow I didn't know about that site. I was actually hoping it was something like that. I hope they have some for other places in Dorset. I would only go to Vermont a few times a year and would only have time to walk through the cemeteries, not go to town clerks, etc. to get cemetery info. So that is a wonderful new resource for me.

Thanks so much!!!!!

John and his wife grew up in the Freedom Cemetery neighborhood and undoubtedly bought a grave plot and had stones erected there. They eventually lived in California where they died and are buried. Thus gravestones in two places. I added info to their Indiana memorials indicating that they are actually buried in California.

There are a lot of cenotaphs out there -- some are family memorials where there appears to be a bit of a display of wealth going on, but I have seen many "accidental" cenotaphs where one of the spouses died in the midwest or back east somewhere and is buried there, a marker was placed with the surviving spouse's name but no death date, and the surviving spouse moved elsewhere and ultimately was buried elsewhere but the marker remained in the place they originally lived. There is a whole section in the site FAQs about cenotaphs, they are perfectly fine as far as the site is concerned, it's just they can be a bit confusing if you're not familiar with the concept.

My guess with the Deeres is that they bought a plot at some point after the parents died and assumed they were going to be buried there, but ended up in California instead.

Hi Bonnie,

The first two are a cenotaph (note the missing last years on the death date). I will request those two be merged into one and will make a note on my memorial.

Cenotaph memorials are allowed (for separate markers in a different place than the burial marker) but there should not be two different memorials for the same cenotaph.

Hi, Bonnie,
Can you please your Caption for the wedding photo of Carolina Schultze?
Correct the last sentence of it to say “Photographer is F.W. Schwarz & Co., New Braunfels, Texas.” – no “t” in Schwarz.
Also, do you have a scan of the back of the photo that you could upload?
Thanks, Bonnie!

RE: Alwine Heiser - duplicate memorials
Hi Bonnie,

I just posted headstone photos for Alwine Heiser and her sister, all at St. Peter's cemetery in Arlington Heights, IL. I also have photos of her parents marker, which I am having a little trouble uploading, but will post as soon as I can.

All of the markers are located next to each other, in row 15.

RE: Alwine Heiser - duplicate memorials
That is indeed interesting. My info came from the St. Peter's registry, which has her plot information. I am planning a trip next week to the town where this cemetery is located. I will stop by to investigate further. I know that her parents are there. I will let you know what I "dig up."

In some rare cases I have actually seen where one person has a headstone in more than one cemetery.
