Bio

Hi, My name is Judy (Cressler)Brown and I live in Manhattan, Riley County, KS. I am originally from Hoxie, Sheridan County, KS. My love of family and tracing their 'roots' came from many long, wonderful hours spent with my grandparents when I was a child. My grandmother Cressler had many boxes of old family pictures. She would get them down off the shelf in the spare bedroom closet and we would go through them one by one, while she told me stories about their lives. We did this so often that I came to know the family members as if they were alive but just away for awhile. My grandparent were pioneers themselves, and both remembered coming from Maryland and Illinois to Sheridan County KS when they were children. They both came in covered wagons and they lived in dugouts and soddies. They both had tragedies in their lives. The stories live on in my memories and they could not have given me a better gift. I have many of the old photos now and have been matching them to stories and records about days long ago. Grandma & Grandad left a lot of written notes and so did my dad, Howard Cressler.
Some of the family surnames I am researching are: CRESSLER, RUSSELL, LINTHICUM, MARSHALL, LOVE, BELL, HAYNES, SMALL, BROWN, MILLER, KEITH, HAINES AND McKIM. These peope came from: Vermont, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Indiana, Missouri, Ireland, Germany, Scotland, and France.

I do not claim or copyright any of the photos I take to fufill requests by family members, loved ones, or friends of the deceased. The photos may be posted and/or copied at the user's discretion.
