Thanks for your reply. The name Allen Sauls caught my eye because it is the same as my g. grandfather's.
It's good to see the soldiers of the Confederacy being remembered and honoured.

Thank you for adding photos to William P. Persons' memorial. Please check #33170579. Looks like the same photo has been added twice. Consider deleting one.
Much appreciation for your time and effort.

I thought she might have been in the Webster plot too but couldn't find them either. It might just be to worn to read their markers. I'll try again next time I'm out there now that I know where they should be.

FYI - now have a photo of Mordecia's gravestone. It's in sad shape, but does have 1867 as the year of death that we'd been questioning.

The date I have shown is the date on the tombstone. I believe it to be more accurate than the article in the book (taken from a newspaper).
Newspapers of that era often used "instant" and "ultimate" instead of naming the month, which was confusing to a lot of people. Also, these flowery tributes were sometimes written as much as a month later and the date could be easily misconstrued.
The obit showed that he died "on Saturday" and both of these dates are on a Saturday, a week apart, but in different months. I think the writer of the article got the date wrong.
I have re-worded the bio on the memorial. See what you think.

WOW! You are incredible!! Thank you for your extraordinary efforts to try and locate this cemetery for me. If I ever make it to Georgia I will be sure to rent a 4-wheel drive off-road vehicle =) to try to track down my ancestors. THANK YOU again. All the best to you.
