I have been researching my family tree since 2009 when I decided to answer that long lingering question: "Where do I come from?" I have made significant progress in answering that question. Most of my family is centered in North Central Indiana in Adams, Tippecanoe, Clinton, and Warren counties. Like that great adage, "Go West Young Man, Go West", my family has done just that. I have been able to trace my family from New Jersey, where most fought in the Revolutionary War, to Virginia/West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, and California. As the country grew, my family moved westward. Some of the family surnames that I am related to are: Burdge/Burdg, Pharo, Negus, Virgin, Troxel/Troxell, Bellangee, Ludlam, Grant, Irons, Stine, etc.

I have been able to trace my surname to Long Island/New Jersey mid-1600s. This is very exciting unto itself. Through my paternal 7th great-grandmother, Mary Allen Smith, I have been able to link my lineage to the Plymouth Colony and the Mayflower. I am descended through Henry Howland, whose brother John Howland was a Mayflower Pilgrim. Henry Howland was my 9th Great-Grandfather.

Genealogy has become a passion of mine that I like to share. I have come to believe that Find-A-Grave along with Ancestry and FamilySearch.org are probably the greatest repositories of genealogical research available. I try to share my research with other contributors to make the current memorials more accurate and also placing memorials on here as I uncover burial locations for my family members or other individuals that I stumble upon during my research. I also contribute by walking cemeteries in my local area ensuring that others might be able to find their missing relatives and complete their goal of figuring out who they are.

I dont mind sharing my pictures with other contributors. Please feel free to use them as you see fit. I look forward to sharing information and also continuing to expand my family tree. I have started putting together a book documenting the genealogical history of my family. I am not sure when it will be done but at some point I will call my research done thus completing it.
