I have been researching my family lineage since 1994 when I received a gift of a genealogy software program. From that point I found a passion and appreciation for preserving and recording family heritage.
Several times a year I travel to western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio to photograph cemeteries and search courthouse records.I generally follow the transfer guidelines as outlined by FAG. I try to get updates done quickly.
My family hails from Mercer, Venango, Clarion, Lawrence, Franklin, Beaver, Allegheny, and Crawford counties in PA; Trumbull, Mahoning, and Columbiana counties in Ohio; Chautauqua County, NY; Union County, NJ; and Manhattan, NY.
Frank M. Cornell Since you have his parents and he was still alive in 1987, I wonder if you have any information on him. My interest is in the fact he married Sylvia Gwyn Moose from NC and had two children by her. Havis
I've written a couple of biographies to attach to memorials at Mount Pleasant and will submit them via the usual route for your consideration. We visited Mount Pleasant about a month ago and found it beautifully maintained but of the six stones we were interested in, the two Hendersons, and the four Hamilton/Eagles, three have fallen over or been knocked over. I'm doubly glad you had photographed them!
RE: Mount Pleasant Pres. Cemetery Thank you so much for your reply. I can't remember ever being in Mt. Pleasant cemetery but I must have been as a child. We are going back soon and I will visit then. Thank you too for linking Sarah Fidelia to her husband. I have become a tad obsessive about keeping my families linked together.
Mount Pleasant Pres. Cemetery Thank you so much for creating memorials for John and Mary Hamilton and for Sarah Fidelia Eagles. I have a request in to Find A Grave to change Sarah's name from Fagles, as you read it, to Eagles. I also have a request in to link her to her parents, the Hamiltons and to link Mary Hamilton to her parents, Archibald and Sarah Gates Henderson. I foolishly forgot to link Sarah to her husband, S. C. Eagles, who is buried in Cleveland (78111030) but will do that after the other corrections are made. I am wondering if you linked the Kanaar woman to the Hamilton's because she is not part of this family. The book Descendants of Robert Henderson, written by Oren Henderson and published in 1947 actually has this line printed correctly with the exception of my name which came out as Sandry! This line goes back through Sarah Gates Henderson to several passengers who came on the Mayflower. Thank you again for the great photos of the stones.
William Jack, died ca. 1849 Thank you very much for posting the grave marker for Nancy Jack, wife of William Jack. I believe that her husband William died between 1840 and 1850. He (I presume it was him anyway) shows up in the 1840 census in Sandy Lake Township but not in 1850. Do you have any idea where I could look for him? He's a bit of a mystery to me. Thanks again!
