RE: Jerry Reed Hi Gigi, thanks for the note about musician Jerry Reed. In your travels as you mentioned you may visit his grave. If so, be sure and take a photo of his marker. A grave photo added to his memorial page will make his tribute complete. Best always,
Donny Hathaway Glad you liked my Donny Hathaway grave photos. I was teaching at a high school just up the road from the cemetery and remember the funeral well...I believe that Rev. Jesse Jackson was involved. I nominated Donny for a star on the St. Louis Walk of Fame several years ago (with his daughter's permission), but so far he hasn't received one. I'm still hopeful, tho!
virtual cemeteries In case you're interested, I maintain a large virtual cemetery for a variety of social and environmental activists, including environmentalists, animal-rights activists, abolitionists, feminists, health care reformers, religious freedom advocates, anti-fascist fighters, black and gay civil rights activists, AIDS awareness activists, and advocates for the poor. You're welcome to visit my cemetery any time. I think that the vast majority of the people in my cemetery don't get nearly as many flowers as they deserve, and I deeply appreciate any and all respectful tributes left for them.
Welcome... ...to the Find A Grave community. Thank you for honoring Harvey Milk today. One of my Find A Grave friends, Karl Respess, maintains a virtual cemetery for members of the LGBT community, called the Sanctuary of the Rainbow. Please visit it if you have the chance. A lot of the gay rights activists in the Sanctuary of the Rainbow don't get a whole lot of flowers.
